What's the deal with this SOS agreement I heard about a few months ago? Is it ever going to happen? Or are we just getting our hopes up for a ship that will never come?IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. I'll be blown away if it ever does. Its right up there with the patch in my mind. We might as well play this game for the stuff we do like and make some planes. But this sim will never hit its high point. With this lack of a patch or SOS i have barly any hope for SDOE 2. I have a feeling that if it is made it will be SDOE just repacked with new terrain and planes which will be pretty crappy in 2 years. IP: Logged |

I wish I could say that it's going to happen on such and such a date, but given that I don't personally own the source, I have to work through the owners of Inertia to make it happen.I've been told that the old lawyers have been sacked and that a new firm is working on the NDA. Unfortunately I don't have a date for when it's likely to be done. IP: Logged |

And a spin of the wheel gives us the latest answer to the question... "What happened with the DNA?" Sorry, it was just darn tempting. PR=FC= IP: Logged |

LOL! And the sad thing is, its so true :-) Nothing against MH, because I guess its out of his hands, but I agree with the others that the OpenSource probably won't come through. Its really too bad, considering the dev talent which is so obviously apparent here. Well, I'm still going to keep having fun with the new planes that have been coming out, and looking forward to seeing Inertia's next effort when (if) it comes out. I noticed the last ScreenShot of the "Week" came out about 6 weeks ago :-)charm IP: Logged |

well, we're still chuggin along as best we can, and quiet a few ppl here are finding new stuff all the time, I don't hold much hope for the patch or SOS, if it happens then great, but I'm certainly not going to hassle MH over it since there really can't be anything he can do.. damn with all the greif he gets he'd have given it out ages ago! lolReally, feel a lil sorry for you MH.. talk about a rock and a hardplace IP: Logged |

Well, I didnt really mean to open a can of worms, I was just kinda curious as to which direction it was going...If it was going anywhere.Keep your eyes on Falcon 4.0. The stolen source code has created a storm of controversy. Although my studying of Computer Science means that I should try and live by the code of the ACM, I am curious as to when some good will come out of the right people having that code...if they decide to toy with it. The possibilities are endless. Anyway...I think SDOE would be fun to tinker around with SOS. I'm sure some of the talented guys that lurk around here could pull as sun out of where the sun don't shine, or give you guys your online patches. Wiggly tracers would be cool, along with a 3 wire to land on the carriers with. I better quit IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. DanW- We could go on forever That tracer idea sounds great. So MH what is the plan with your next WW2 sim? Will it be a repack or can we hope for some fundemental changes and additions?

Why not steal the code and turn into a party of pirates ? TIME IS UP ! One year is long gone and still nearly nothing ! They took our money with open hands but they dont give the necessary support for a half finished software. They give a damn shit to the work of all the people around here. This behavior should be more public. No-one should buy their new half finished stuff. Those guys definitly need more negative publicity !! In the end I had to say that I still not exactly know who these bad guys are LK IP: Logged |

Hey Rog, that was excellent, gave me a really good laugh! Nice.I bought Soldier of Fortune a while back. Then I realised it was an activision product and took it right back for a refund. I usually check who the publisher is before buying but was sloppy on this occasion. And anytime I'm in EB perusing the shelves and notice people doing likewise I make it my business to tell them thus.."Don't touch anything by activision, they're criminal fraudsters who'll never patch the software and will leave you with an un-playable game." Obviously I say more than that, and in a very persuasive manner. And I get much thanks for it too, very very satisfying...especially when I finish with.."and don't forget to warn your friends, us PC owners got to hang together." I reckon I've cost activision a couple of thousand pounds so far...sweet pay-back. They'll learn, when they've gone bust, that it doesn't pay to treat the customer with arrogant contempt. Maybe we should post all patch&bug related topics to activision (the bad guys ?), maybe they dont know that something is wrong..ore we offer a standart complaint text for donwload. So everyone who thinks that the time is up can send this to activision, to Mr. Clinton, to Mr. Blair, Mr. Putin, Mr. Schroeder, and to all the other big guys out there IP: Logged |
