I'm having some problems here. I've made a couple of missions that just will not appear in multiplayer no matter what I do. I can't figure out why since I havent done anything different with them than I've done with other missions, which are playable online. To make matters worse, these missions are the ones I've spent the most time on and that I most want to play online. I guess it figures, huh. Each mission has 8 planes and a number of ground targets/vehicles. I've used some unique aircraft which don't seem to get a lot of online play, such as the Yak, P51b, Hurricane, etc. I've tried changing the aircraft around. I've used the proper squadrons and countries (no Nations stuff, only the originals). I've saved each mission with the proper .mis extension. I've named them properly as far as I know. I've tried saving them under names that have worked with other missions. YES, I made sure the mission's were in the multiplayer folder. I've restarted everything prior to online play. I've played them offline and they work great. Still, they won't show up in multiplayer. WHYWHYWHY!!! Basically, I've followed the instructions for creating missions to the letter....as far as I know. Is there something I'm missing? IP: Logged |

Are you certain you have max number of planes ajusted in your ini to reflect the amount of planes you have in the mission. If not, the mission will not show.Good Luck PR=FC= IP: Logged |

Wasn't it necessary to use Nations with the Yak? I thought that was how it was released by Tail.------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

If you have edited the file as a text file, and changed the filename when saving, you must also change the filename listed in the mission text or it will not show properly. Specifically this line: langUS ( msnName "Filename" ) If you have an unusually long filename it will appear but not correctly. My bet on the problem is the number of planes enabled in your ini file. Make sure you only have 8 planes or enable 16 player multiplayer missions using SDOE Control [This message has been edited by spin (edited 04-22-2000).] IP: Logged |

Thanks for the advice. I've followed it all to the best of my ability. However, still no dice. My SDOE control is set up for 16 and so is my .ini. A couple of the mission names are "Bombing El Djim" and "Raid on Tanaus". Not too many characters there. I've never edited the mission textually (as far as I know) only with the provided SDOE mission editor. I have named and renamed them a number of times. They all work great in single player. I gave the Yak's a standard British squad because I'm told that Nations isn't an online standard (though I wish it was). So, I guess this is just one of "those" things. Oh, I do have 5.3b installed. ------------------ "Repoman is always intense." IP: Logged |

When you say "number of vehicles" are you talking about Funky-vehicles? If so, those count as aircraft. The standard ground objects that shipped with the game do not count as aircraft.I just looked at the code, and the only reason we filter out missions when building that list is if they have too many planes. How did you rename them? Using the editor or using Explorer? The name inside the mission file has to match the filename. If you change the name in Explorer then we'll treat it as a broken file and ignore it. IP: Logged |
