Spanky has mentionned this in another thread- and it bears repeating as it is causing me many headaches. I am still testing my Dover Part 3 missions and am only on mission 5 of 15. Three months ago- these missions worked fine, but now things rarely work as they did before. A few examples:

1. The Jug with GroundPounder loadout will NOT take off...It got to about 180 mph and crashed into the hedges. And as of late, the 17 is doing the same thing where it didn't before. It can't take off Eastbourne's longest runway without hitting the trench around the field and crashing. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to start everything in the air- and no one hates that more than I do.

2. Rockets are buggy as of late-- sometimes they explode and sometimes they just fall through the ground.

3. The planes sometimes remain on a runway even after you have changed their position in the editor.

4. Planes will also at time completely ignore waypoints and wander off on their own in a completely opposire direction OR head to the winds at the end of the screen (OOOooooooooooh!!).

Can this all be caused by one of the new planes-- or is something more sinister afoot?!!!

Spanky here..

Yes this is starting to suck ass. Any ideas why this kind of thing might be happening?

I have run into the same kind of anomolies, and I don't make a fraction of the amount of missions you do.

I wonder if you have narrowed it down at all to happening with certain aircraft. For instance, have you tried one of the missions that the problem occurs on and changed out the aircraft to some older unchanged versions?

Hope it's figured out soon. It really bites trying to make missions when the AI won't even follow simple waypoint, and attack comands.

Good Luck

Well-- I think that some of the blame lies with the FM's...and in the case I am not bitching but trying to compliment. This is what I think the anser is for problem #1 I listed above.

For both the Jug and the 17 in the missions, I have them set up with the heaviest loadouts (the Ground Pounder and the 12 500 pounders for the 17) and I have the fuel capacities way up to the limit (thanks to the chart Raider gave me)-- but if you think about it, with the heavy loadout like that-- fuel must be adjusted. I decreased those values last night and they both did take off OK-- so I guess the fuel is important. I believe it was mposis in the read-me's for the 109's who stated that when the fuel values were too high- the AI acted batty (i.e.- not lifting the landing gear, etc)- so maybe this is the cause. As far as #2-4, I'm not sure. The Jug is in most of these missions, although I'm hesitant to say that it is the cause. I will continue testing different variables and hope that some of you guys do the same. Thanks!

On number 2 remember that the Jug has ObProb properties built into the loadout file so every once in a while you will get a dud.

I have not found any problems with AI not flying wps and executing their directions using fs shipped planes.

I have not done many missions with the new planes but those that I have done (a couple of WWI missions, Corsair and Hurricane) are fine.

Sometimes if the squadron loses their leader the AI will not properly finish a mission (They'll wander off the map).

OK-- I can see where one rocket out of 6 would be a dud...but all 6? (Or is it an all or nothing kind of thing?) Also-- in the mission I was talking about the P38 (mod) was also firing rockets through the ground-- does it have these properties as well? Hopefully, we can nail all these problems.
