Just wondering what time frame the Plane Pack guys are working on for the next iteration of the Pack. I've seen references to some testing of a "5.4 FW-190" and "new P-47 damage model" and so forth. I've also got the Corsair whipped pretty much into shape if there's a pack in production for release within the next month sometime.

Alternatively, if there's NOT one in production for release within the next couple of months, is there any interest among the gang to produce, say, a "Mini-Pack" with upgraded versions of the Jug, Corsair, I-16, Hurricane, Wildcat(?) etc? Might make more sense than having random betas out there. Even if we just call it a "Beta Plane Pack," it would at least provide a certain amount of online compatibility and interoperability with the 5.3 planes.

(Not ignoring the biplanes--but they have their own plane pack in development AFAIK). Just puttin out feelers here...

Spanky here..

I was thinking maybe the DM stuff. And maybe some work with the fuel tanks and stuff for the ground issue

Thats what i would vote for anyway. Along with the regular tuning in every pack.

Great idea. I can't speak for everyone on Team Jug, but I think they would be OK with this. We are probably going to release the next version of the Jug about a week or two after the contest ends. I hope that puts us in synch with plane pack efforts.

I was also thinking we might look at "cross-pollinating" the new planes to have somewhat "standardized" features, i.e. opening canopies, separate fuel tank objects, variable engine performance, fuel and engine fires, guns jam with wing damage, etc.

That might not be a "quick" project of course, but I'd be willing to do all the canopies for the planes that need em, for example, or all the fuel tanks, etc.

Getting the FMs right is kind of a "never-ending" process with a lot of testing for each plane required, but creating a common "feature set" seems like an attainable goal.

Just thinkin out loud here...

Speak of the Devil... I was just now working on getting the canopy to open.
Standardization of features is a good idea. Perhaps we could make a master list of base features all planes should have.

Thats all sounding good guys. I have wanted everything to be standardized for ever. Since we had the first opening canopy. Maybe some folding wings too

Wheres the rest of the people who are into this? Why is it only us 3 talking?

If its only in OPS i might be able to help. Maybe the guns or fuel tanks. I have to fix my OPS though its all messed and i can't see anything in the 3d window all of a sudden.
