My wife called me from work yesterday and said for me to look at the back page of the newspaper. She said my birthday is coming up and thought I might like this.

North American Top Gun is bringing a T-6 Texan, Fighter Trainer to Lexington KY, next weekend. So on Friday at 2:45 pm I get to FLY it with an instructor in the back set. He will take off and land, but will let me fly. Even get to do loops and rolls. He will do the more complicated maneuvers

" Maneuvers we do include: aileron rolls, hesitation rolls, barrel rolls, loops, cuban 8's, immelmanns, chandelles, split S's and clover leafs. You are in direct contact with the pilot and can tell him exactly what you want. (It's the world's greatest free-style roller-coaster!) Even if you have never experienced aerobatics before our pilots can get you some real hands-on training and teach you to perform some of the basic maneuvers such as loops and aileron rolls. "G" forces encountered are from 0 to +4.0. Speeds are up to 200 mph."

I can't wait to really check out the rudder handling and aileron roll. Wish me luck.

Ronin, let me know if you want to get together on this.

That sounds awesome! I definately want to connect on that! It looks like they'll be operating out of Georgetown, KY's airport from their web page.

I'll check with the family and make sure we don't have a conflict and get back to you!

That would be great Ronin. At least get together after for a beer or something.

I will be sure to bring a camera and a barf bag. Hope I don't get the two mixed up.

Mudshark, I forgot you are in the area too. Small world. Three guys from the Lexington area.

Look up in the sky on Friday about 3:00 pm. Better yet come on out and join the fun. This should be really interesting.

Mudshark:

Where are you located??

I live in Lexington, KY and work for Hitachi Automotive Products (thus 'Ronin') in Harrodsburg, KY.

Raider, I don't think the tax man is going to leave me enough to take a turn on that Texan! But, I'm at least going to be there with a camera! I'll bring a digital camera and we can get some shots of the "Ky SDOE Air Corps" for this forum!

Your on for the beer!

Ronin, That will be great to have you there. I was not going to do it at first because of the money situation right now. But my wife talked me into it. (She didn't have to try very hard).

Well the beer will be on me...if I can still hold it down.

I will send you an email later.
