Spanky here..

K I'm still havn't trouble getting them to attack each other.

I put a 3 262s and 3 p80s all with in 1 mile of each other. On sweep with overlaping boxes. facing towards each other. I make the axis axis and the allied allied. and i make them mission objectives with 100%. They just circle each other a bit and leave.

That is my biggest pet peeve with this game pertaining to missions. I want to be able to tell a set of fighters to attack another set. Not just say go up there and hunt. I know thats now how it worked in real life but at least they would attack. Same with bombers.

You attack this town. Thats it. No bombing waypoints and crap.

Thanks for any help guys.

I really appreciate it.

Hey Spanky,

I think you need to use CAP for both sides if you want some dogfights.
If they're on Sweep, they will most likely go looking for ground targets to attack.

I had made a WWI mission setting some Fokker DrI's to Sweep. When they didn't attack my planes, I followed them. They proceeded to attack an airfield, then a factory and then a bridge. I was flying right behind them.

So, overlapping CAP is probably your best bet.

well Spanky, I don't know how much this will help.. but other than this I have no idea's.. whatever else you do, push the Aggression slider to the max, this should help, I've not had the trouble that you're having, other than when even with overlapping patrol area's they are just to far apart to "contact" each other.

I do get a bug sometimes, this happend to me in a mission with a few A6M5's and P47D's.. they had over lapping patrol areas, flew easily close enough to vis. each other.. but did nothing, not only that, every ground unit ignored them aswell, no flak, no AA nothing.. it was like everybody was using super stealth... the bug has gone now and I've no idea what caused it.. but maybe this is also your problem. I've re-installed windows (due to none related problems) and re-installed SDOE and not had that happen since.. but it's not a nice way to fix the bug is it, specially when it's not garunteed..

Good luck Spanky

Roger on the cap thing Dauntless said, and don't forget to turn on the "Flip em off"
select, that really pisses em off...

Spanky here....

So I have to use cap? Cap=Combat air patrol.

Sweep= ground attack?

I'll give that a try.

K I tried cap and it worked. I'm not to sure if the p80s attack the 262s though. I'll have to watch another one.

Whats the key to set your plane on AI pilot?
I thought it was Shift-f6 but my plane dove into the sea.

Spanker,
"P" is the automatic pilot key and "FU" is the finger flip key.

Th CAP thing is true here too.
Also Shift-F6 is the right key to make a plane AI controlled. Would you have messed up with your Keyb.inp ?
