While Zoycite and I are thrilled with the popularity of Dirk, Please don't forget that we tried to deliver a complete aircraft too. While the DVII is not perfect it does have a real cockpit model with highly detailed gauges. (Have you looked at them real close), WW I style gunsight and an authentic looking wooden prop. Not to mention the great 3D model Zoy built.
The Flight Model is accurate within the limits of the game. Correct top speed, stall speed, roll and turn rates as per data and pilot accounts that we have collected.
New never before seen Damage Model. The wing surface actually has holes all the way through when damaged. This is not a texture but actual holes in the structure. The rudder can be shot to bits too.
Complete Engine Damage. Actual parts can be shot and damaged that will effect engine performance in different ways. Radiator, Cylinder Head, Oil Pan, Fuel Tank and Engine block. You can recognize what has been damaged by looking at what is happening (type and location of smoke, engine sputter and tach movement) When the engine is damaged it even has smoke coming from the exhaust pipe.
We tried to make it so you could look around and tell what was going on with your aircraft just like a real pilot would do.
There are two bugs we hope to squash. We need new WW I airfoils to improve the climb rate and the fuselage goes ballistic when the wings and pilot are gone. We will not stop working on the DVII until these things are fixed.
Is this just a post to point out the features of the DVII? Well yes.
Zoycite and I are very proud of the plane we built. I know how every plane builder feels about their plane
