Spanky here... K Razor747 found a program for making aircraft plans for RC flyers. Some of you here. You edit your plane in 2d and see it change in 3d. The great part is, is that it also out puts 3d files. So its practically perfect for us. Click on the link from his site to get the demo. Its really easy to use. http://www.fightersquadron.com/flightline/ Mad Dog and me were thinking that this could be the perfect compainion for the RC sim intertia is doing. If they could set up a deal together you could, make planes for the RC sim with this sucker after someone made a little plugin and fly your plane in rcsim, then print the plans and make it in real life. How cool would that be. If intertia donesn't set somthing up they they are crazy. I'm thinking some plugins and some coupons for %20 off for the other product. Man this could rock. K that is only the beggining its an airfoil editor thats made for rc stuff but could be great for us too
The link is here http://www.dreesecode.com/
And it has a 30 day free demo fully functional

Spanky here... Hi guys. It looks like you can make a pretty good fuse but how do I add more sections to the wings? I only have 2 to work with and i can't really do any curves like that. They must be possible but I can't figure out how. Well i'm pretty pissed. Its pretty much useless with out being able to add new sections to the wing. But it should be possible or else no one could come up with the planes on their site with the nice curved wings. [This message has been edited by Spanky the Mad Dog (edited 04-12-2000).] IP: Logged |

Haven't looked at it in much detail yet but I did notice that you can duplicate the fuse and blend in the new fuse's shape into the orig one, thereby altering its appearance.Perhaps this can be done with the wings as well ie make multiple duplications of the wing and redice the size of each duplication to match the desired area between each 'cross section'. Hope that make sense ...don't even know if ya can do it ! There's some great models out there to download for this. Perhaps someone who knows how to model (not me !) can buy the full version and reverse engineer a few models ...or perhaps even read the manual ...now thats an idea ....has it got a manual ?? Mind you I'd like to see the poly count from models made with this program ..... Cheers AGAS 5 ------------------ Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation IP: Logged |

Looks like a Japanese push plane! Put a pair of 20mm in the nose and see what it does. IP: Logged |

Yes Spanky, had a look at Snack back when we started the FM updates and I just checked out the newer version. It's cool but it doesn't model anything past stall so if you used the data from snack only the planes would act crazy in a spin. TS

Spanky here... You telling me tail that it has all that cool stuff but not the one part that we need? Have you tried writing them? it sounds pretty useless if it doesn't do that. SUcks ass.

My new ride ! Wow it took alot of FM work to get the pusher prop and those elevators on the front modelled so the plane was controllable. It flies pretty nice but very different from the other planes.. nose wanders around a bit and it turns better at high speed than it does at low speed. TS

Thanks for the link! Heck the guy lives in Columbus, Ohio, where I was born. Pretty cool, he's in to R/C bigtime.Tailslide, nice plane! But you mention lots of interesting planes on "that" site. Where? I've searched high and low and have found none. Thanks. [This message has been edited by Pete Hawk (edited 04-12-2000).] IP: Logged |
