Spanky here... Hi guys. I'm working on a mission making tutorial. I could use any tips and hints you have. And i'm looking for info about hand editing the missions. And how to do really precise plane placement such as on carriers and stuff.
I'm covering thoughts on design and the process of making a Great mission. THanks.

Spanky, One thing I've noticed is that some of the new squad names don't work online. Due to the -'s and the :'s, so don't use anything that isn't a straight name with no dots and dashes. As far as placement of A/C on carriers I can only play around and get lucky, don't know of another way. To make AA and AAA work well make all planes (opposing) the mission objective and set all abilities full strength, ie aggressivness, skill, sanity etc. And my thoughts on a good mission is a fast pace, you be the judge. You proly new all this but if its any help good. PsiIP: Logged |

ah, I'd really like some info on cool sky colours for the 1.5.1 version. Do you have the runway headings for the airports (including these would be helpful)? Pete Hawk had the airports from two of the terrains posted on his old site.spanky, 1. If manually editing a mission do not change the filename unless you change the mission title to match the new filename. 2. Africa - Jadu airfield stacks the first two planes in a squad - always. 3. Set up a template for each terrain that retains the axis / allied controlled territory - this saves a ton of time.

Spanky,Send me the mission that you problems with. Putting planes on carriers. 1.)Using the mission editor, place a carrier and a plane near each other then save it. 2.)Edit this file using a text editor and copy the msnCoordinate of the carrier to the msnCoordinate of the plane. This will put the plane on the center of the carrier. You can move the plane by adding or subtracting values from this coordinate. The best way to do this is by loading the plane and carrier in a 3d editor measuring the distances you want to move the plane. Remember, you can not edit the mission using the mission editor anymore because it will put the plane somewhere else. You can only use a text editor if you want to change anything.
