Spanky here..

FRIGGIN SWEET!!

How the hell did you do that so freaking fast?

I know its no where near flying but man that was insane. I guess so was SVs last ww1 plane. He did that sucker in 3 days.

What plane are you using for base? ju88?

I can't freaking wait. Me and Mad Dog have been waiting for another bomber. FINALLY.

IT will be a great addition to the game. Russia will be a full country now.

Great stuff man, I can't wait.

Those fakes look good.

How many polys? you were trying to hold back but it looks pretty damn good and its not even skined yet

Sweet indeed. Very good. Hope to see her in the air soon, although, don't rush her out. You made an outstanding job on the I16.

Looks like something that can be a good template for a Me110 too.

I've been looking over the variants for the pe-2.. TWENTY different versions totalling over 11,000 produced. Everything from a 400+ mph fighter to a heavily armoured late war version capable of twice the ususal bomb load and armed with three 20mm cannons.

We're going to have a lot of fun with this one

YEAH ! Imagine ground attacks with the two backward firing grenade launchers! Woho !

Did you mean fun or "fun" ? Actually modelling the Pe is alot of "fun" I turn every single face twice before I decide to build/use it. With 2000 polys in my pocket the outside would be done for days now. But grrrr had to keep the count near 1000 Somehow I got the feeling this could be my "masterpiece" (modelling wise). WeŽll see !

BTW - I did a small texture test today and and it seems my plan workes so far

Q : Should I add an extra pattern for noseart ? Something like this would look quite impressive in the game:

That'd be great!

I left space for something like this on my Yak template but never got around to adding it

You do know about the bombs that could be carried internally in the engine nacelles, right? I don't have any clear pictures but I assume the doors for the gear also act as nacelle bomb bay doors. Also if you make the bombs in the bomb bay on hardpoints instead of a bomb bay it will avoid the bomb bug.

I got good scale plans and one not so god cutaway, if biggles replies to my mail, I might get more cutaways and pics. There are 2 doors on the engine nacelle one for the gear and behind one for the bombs.

Q: The Pe carries also bombs directly under the bomb bay, so you cant open it as long as these bombs are not dropped. If I make the "Bay-bombs" also on hardpoints I cant choose wich should be dropped first ? Could be a problem right ?

Yes.. you could put hard points in the bay and under the bay but there would be nothing preventing someone from opening the bay without dropping the bottom bombs first.

But the bay doors would move through the bottom bombs:

Anyway I thought such things are more your part of the Pe-2. ?
