Now that I have my new computer and got SDOE installed, I was looking for the servers last night to say howdy to my squadies. Looking at the list of servers, it only showed four. UK1, AUS, US1 & 2. Cal12 didn't even show up? Anybody know whats going on?-=BAB=- Gunner IP: Logged |

Hi Gunner, if it was my server list it may have been some problem on the internet between me and cali12. I made a standalone app to check the servers but it's only been tested on my machine use at your own risk: -- I made a little ICQ-like app tonite that sits in your system tray and flashes/makes a sound when people are on the servers. I find it handier than the web page list. http://tailslide.firelight.dynip.com/Files/SDOEBeeperv1.zip Unzip, run the setup prog. You'll get an SDOEBeeper menu added to your start bar. When you run it you get a little icon in your system tray. Double click to bring up a list of servers or right click pick options to set alarm and how frequently it checks. I've only run it on my PC does it work on anyone elses? ------------------ Patch It! TS Aircombat

I guess I didn't make myself clear. The server list, (in the game itself). Only 4 show up when you get to that window. You know, Network, Internet, Servers, Lobby. Only 4 show up in that section before going to lobby. ???????????-=BAB=- Gunner IP: Logged |

Luny, Spanky found a small bug in that the alarm didn't always stop blinking after people leave the servers or you change your options. I fixed it and updated the zip (I didn't bother changing the version number). If you decide to reinstall use the add/remove option from the control panel to remove the old version first. I ran a "tracert" to cal12 last night and didn't get any conflicts. I wonder what the hell is going on? It seems that if 4 show up the rest should. Any server gurus out there?IP: Logged |

Are you going through some sort of firewall or proxy server?ANet has four servers hard-wired into it. It goes out and queries one of those for the list of other servers. It stores all that in a file, I think servers.dat, in the SDOE program directory. Make sure that file isn't read-only. IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Try what mighty said. And try just rebooting and firing it up again. I found last time I reinstalled SDOE it was only showing 4 until I restarted SDOE. Could be as simple as that

That's exactly waht I'm talking about: I can't see more than 4 servers either. I've renamed servers.dat, I've made sure it's not write protected. What more can be done?IP: Logged |

Alexander, What I did was go to a server that I can see, created a mission and flew it. After that they all came back! Thanks to Tail's suggestion. Back in business baby!!------------------ (Kill'em All, Sort'em out Later ) -=BAB=- Gunner

Gunner's suggestion might work. That will force a connection to the server. You shouldn't have to fly a mission. Simply getting the lobby list should be enough. Sit at that screen for about 60 seconds to make sure it has time to send the server list. You didn't tell us how you're connected to the internet. Is it a standard modem connection? Through a DSL or cable modem? At work, possibly through a firewall? Are you getting realistic-looking pings to those four servers, or are they all 999? IP: Logged |
