Just wanted to let all of you know thatI just got my new Athelon 1000mhz machine in! 256meg of ram,Gforce 32meg card, bla, bla, bla,(Gunner sticking his tounge out at the collective community ) Just kidding, she's sweet! Gees, it locates drivers before you can let go of the mouse. Now I have got to load all Of my SDOE stuff and D/L alot more to get back in the game.I hope this solves my invisibility problem online. This machine plus my cable modem should make me a very visable target, hehe. P.S. Didn't meen to brag but I am so pumped that I just had to let it out!

You go right ahead and brag Gunner. You have every right to be proud of such an awesome machine! Let us know how many B-17's you can get into the air and still keep your FPS above 20. That's the real SDOE test. IP: Logged |

Hmm, good place for an Archy Masterpiece: you be the judge.Gunner finally got his new rig. He got so excited he danced a little jig. 1000 mega hertz of screaming machine. A GeForce card too, Gunner creamed in his jeans. Now when we see Ole Gunner online. We'll see his plane get shot down just fine. No more wonder woman planes for poor gunner boy. Tailslide and others will abuse him like a toy. And Gunner can enjoy all the smoke, flames and bits. As his plane explodes from all of the hits. well, not quite a masterpiece, but it'll do in a pinch. IP: Logged |

Well said Archy, And thanks for the congrats guys. Now I have got to get my J/S & rudder pedals to work with this setup. You know, all the usual issues. Like getting my wife to talk to me again. (Or should I?,hehe) Yea Nat, I was up till about 2am this morning transfering data and setting it up. Even rearranged the room to make it more comfortable. It was a long night, but quite allot of fun! The "room" is my space. Tv, phone, stereo, computer and a lockable door. Only missing a toilet and refidgerator or I would never come out, lol.Be seeing you up there! ------------------ (Kill'em All, Sort'em out Later ) -=BAB=- Gunner

I loaded SDOE last night and ran it a little. OMG, the terrains load in 30-40 seconds, lol. I just sat there with my mouth open, and a tear in my eye Now if I can just get my controllers to work . This is turning out to be clusterfoxtrot! I see someone with the same setup (excluding the G/W) is having the same type problems that I am in the help section.

Gotta update you, Last night I made a mission with 34 planes, 8 of which were B-17's. 18 tanks slugging it out on the new Somme terrain. It was a real Bee hive up there. Kinda like EAW but with realistic planes, hehe. Max detail setting applied. What this is all leading to is that mt FPS never dropped below 45 and averaged 50 even on external views! Do ya feel that buddy? huh, huh!! oh yea! Sorry about that Its very exciting for me and I wanted to share it. Imagine whats in store for us in the future! Im sure one day in the not to distant future I will look back at this machine and laugh like its a 486,

I wonder if this relates to the delay in B-17II? They're waiting for more people to have Gig cpu's to run it properly.IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Great stuff man. But I sure hope MH and teap can do some smoking programing to get the people like me that will probly only have p3 750s or so when sdoe 2 is released. Being a Playstation fan and seeing the games get better every year while the hardware stays the same makes me feel that developers rely to much on faster vid cards, more ram and bigger cpus. Some of the games that came out this lasts year on the sony blow the 1st and 2nd gen games away. IP: Logged |

Another update on the Gig'er. Just wanted to report that this sucker puts off some heat! I expected it too but, in the small room I have it in you can feel that the room temperature is actually slightly higher than it use to be with my old computer. The thing has 2 big case fans and huge heat sinks. I know thats not a problem, I just thought it was inetresting to note. He,he, small price to pay. I may curl up next to it in the winter to stay warm .

Spanky here. LOL gunner... Sounds like my stereo amp. 50+50 NAD It heats up the room when its idleing. I leave it on all the time in the winter. In the summer if i'm not listening to music its off. I slaped a temp probe on top of it above the heat sinks and played a bunch of different music to see how hot i could get it. I think it was around 120F. I'm a room temperature kinda guy. anything hotter i hate. IP: Logged |
