www.fightersquadron.com/flightline/planes.htm

I made some updates to it and would like to know if it is good enough for everyone? If you see something that you don't like, reply or email me and I will change it.

Hi,

great idea to put all on one site. But I cant d/l the files with Netscape. Only the exe files. The rest gets scrumbled by netscape as the browser tries to show the binary stuff. May be a ftp:// link would be better.

Razor: Looking good!! I especially like the notation of *Online Standard* next to 5.3a. As I try to approach each site as a newbie ( in a way, as things change, I am!! ), I have a question: when getting the 5.3a, is that a combined 5.3 and 5.3a, or would one still need 5.3 first? I know it doesn't seem like much, but for folk like me, it could cause some confusion if I have been told to search for both after my first visit to a lobby. Also, unless stated otherwise, I might try to download all the planes at once, thinking they were part of the pack....would it be a hassle to note that these are not online standard planes, but add ons which not everyone may have?

Just some mental burps, and definitely not intended as criticism! As one of the recently frustrated ' tired of online mismatch ' people, I surely appreciate what you, Nat, Raptor2, and others are doing with your sites.

I suggest only use 1 picture for each plane to make page open faster.

Raptor2,
I will change it to 1 pic.

ArgonV,
I will be updating the page just as soon as a new plane is released. I just need everyone that has a plane to send it to me when they update it.

Hi,

I figured out hww to dl the *.c00, *.c01 etc files with netscape by right clicking on it. But I still get an error message during extraction (Couldn't find attached archive data). I only dl'ed the content plane pack. As nealg already mentioned. If I am a newbie. that's may be not straight forward. He should be able to dl the files without thinking

Anyway I really like your idea to have all at one place and the page itself looks very good. May be a big download button on you index page, would also help to let people finding the planes as easy as possible.

thx for your efforts !!

bakunin,
I can't figure out the error you are having with the files. I tried it on my computer and I asked a couple of others to try it and it works for them. How should I go about making the files Netscape friendly? Should I just post some instructions on how to DL them?

Hi Razor,

may be it is just me, has anyone had succes with netscape ? Just an idea, may you use
ftp://www.fightersquadron.com/flightline/zip/contest/contest.c02
instead of http://www.fightersquadron.com/flightline/zip/contest/contest.c02
by using the ftp protocol, the browser should automatically download the files.

To use Netscape with none standard file types, use the right mouse button, and select "save as" and there you have it I had the same problem with some one trying to d/l fro my site.

Thanks Razor, you are the only one that I know to have all of these planes in one place. I asked this question around 2 weeks ago if someone had all the new planes in one place. Nat was the only one to reply. It is a pain to try and find all these planes! Thanks again, keep up the great work.

The nations pack was split up for easier downloading by the bandwidth challenged.

With 4.72, if I click on a file I get a page of binary jibberish.
