Good on ya Laika very commendable attitude, I love the plane, but damn do I hate flying the lil bugger.. heh Love the way it's not "rock steady" and actually gives some feeling... very nice ~Nat~IP: Logged |

Salute Laika,I don't know excactly why - but I just like that cramped, little plane... Was trying it against some drones and I must say it handles very, very well. The only thing is - like in some other planes - that the zoom key (F10) does not work properly... I am still very new to SDOE and I don't know if this is intended - the zoom key just brings up the left gauge panel (I think)... please bring enlightment to my darkness - I need the zoom for gunnery and I don't like pad-lock very much! Ansonsten super Kiste!! Kirin out

Kirin I think f9 - f12 just bring up "quick views", and are defined in the .sm file. Usually quickviews are there so you can check your airspeed etc. without having to switch away from whatever view you were looking at for too long.charm IP: Logged |

F10 was set to zoom to the gunsight, but I changed this. Use Ü / + (*~) (German Keybord) to zoom in and out !Schön´ Dank ! IP: Logged |

cc Laika - now I wonder why you took away the quick zoom and if I can redo it again...I usually fly zoomed back far to get a greater field of view which helps SA - but when I am going for the kill I need the zoom for accurate gunnery, zooming manually is to slow here - any suggestions? My intention was to make the I-16 as realistic as possible. That includes the bad view out of the cockpit. Set the zoom to 100% and use the padlock view (sparse) to keep the eye-contact to the enemy. When you´re in a fight you might zoom in a bit for better aiming. LK IP: Logged |

Laika I love it! just one question. I know it is thew final version and all, but have you had any thoughts on making the bottom (when the U/C is down) parts of the gear doors? I don't know if you've seen them , but they cover the rest of the wheel when retracted. When gear is down, they stick out at 90 degrees and are attatched to the bottom of the main gear doors. They are practicle the same set up as on the Beech D-17 Staggerwing etc. Also, seeing you did suck a great job on the I-16, what about having an I-153 to keep the I-6 company? Now THAT would be sweet!

All I know is that you normaly can see the wheels when the gear is retracted (and you can see the ground when they are down). But I will not change the model anymore ! If you got the time, feel free to modify the I-16. Also converting the Ishak to the Chaika should not be so hard (nearly the same fuse etc.). Anyway, the next major project is the Pe-2 and of course updates for the I-16 (and thats enough work for a long time ). IP: Logged |

LaikaI have said this before, but it bears repeating....I love this plane! Great job! I am REALLY looking forward to the Pe-2 also! I know when you finish that one it will be a gem. Keep up the great work my friend! PR=FC= IP: Logged |
