Source: Fighter Squadron" I think it says that there are a lot of possibilities with OpenPlane in Fighter Squadron. http://www.simactu.com/accueil.shtml I know it is not much, but this is way too cool. It is about half way down on March 27, 2000. Maybe some of our French speaking friends can give a better translation. ------------------ Raider 33rd~GS IP: Logged |

OK that I can translate!! Je ne sais quoi is:"Crazy American white-boy who is slaughtering a beautiful language", n'est pas? I took many years of French in high school and college- and as I said up there, my grandmother is French (from Lyon). I still have family there, and someday whenever I actually have $$ would like to visit. Werner Molders is there now, the lucky devil! ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

Bonjour ! Here is the translation (well... I'm french-speaking, not english-speaking);^] Fokker DVII for FS:SDOE Posted by: Black baron Type: Posted at 19:17 The site Fighter Squadron organizes a competition of the best airplane. Using the OpenPlane technology, each is free to participate and to present to the juries its plane. In this case, a new Fokker DVII was born. More information (I guess here was a link). The same guy speaks about Nations 1.0 and others planes: ***** Some wonderful new planes are available for Fighter Squadron, the Parsoft fly simulator. Each plane has its own sounds and there are different voices for each situation. You can download these planes which include the I-16, the Ju-88G, the Ju-88C6 and the BM-MkIA. Also download the Nations 1.0 pack which adds the following countries: Russia, Japan and Italy. A must! **** By the way, I'm a bit surprised to have never meet this Black Baron here. I remember a Black Baron who flight under l'Arc de Triomphe ten years ago in Paris, Yes! I said flight under. He was arrested by the police, no news since. Maybe the guy is the same... Jeeves You're welcome whenever you want, I actually live in Lyon, as is Lfbpro my squadmate, who even *experienced* a phone call by Werner as he was around in town last week (just too bad they weren't able to meet). Great thing about the Internet I'd say as long as you've found a nice community. Also don't hesitate if you need info from around here. Btw for the French Nation Lfb has the sounds recorded, but it appears that French pilots have been using English as flight language ever since they were included in UK and US squads during WWII anyway we still have WWI commands ... Lothar true its known here that wine (Beaujolais to be precise) is the third river crossing the town, they also pretend we're the capital of gastronomy, but all good things have their bad sides when you abuse of them ( it's better than Mc D tho : ) ) So Jeeves NY is about 4 hours plane ( and 250$ )from here: come along... ------------------ ___________ -=BAB=-Luny

I will...someday...whenever the wife and I get out of debt. The last two summers have been expensive vacations...so this summer we are laying low...maybe next year. I am also looking to see if my school is hosting any trips overseas-- I'd sign up as a chaperone in a heartbeat!------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

Well- as far as the French voices go-- we could always have the voice in a French accent if they always talked in English...although I would like to hear the French calls anyway If Lfb has them done-- I would hate to waste all that hard work...but if you guys aren't satisfied historically wise- then I would say do the calls in English with your voices-- they would definitely have that French flair to them either way... I would hate to see someone who is not French try that though...yikes! Kind of like how Janes WWII Fighters does it- you can toggle on pure German or a German accent. IP: Logged |

Voices... am I the only one who finds the WWII fighters style accents silly? I can understand a little german, so I guess that gives me an edge over many for the german voices, but my russian is approx zero, and I just love those russian bogie calls. Gotta learn I guess. For the Frensh calls, I at least have a frog at work I can ask :-) _ /Bjorn.IP: Logged |

bjorn--I hear what you're saying...being of French lineage- I welcome the language to the game (along with some French planes ). As Luny says though- the French used English call signs- so to be accurate we use accents...but my vote would be to screw accuracy on this one occasion...and bring on the French language! Bonjour ! As France for the nations pack has been mentioned, I'm actually preparing a set of new skins for the P47 Thunderbolt. The first ones come from the 1st and 2nd groupe de chasse of the fifth squadron Champagne and La Fayette (GC1/5 and GC2/5). The La Fayette skin is almost done and will be posted in the next two weeks.Bonne chance et bon vol ! Arrowbase [This message has been edited by Arrowbase (edited 03-31-2000).] IP: Logged |

Bonjour !I agree but "Damn you" in french is just a bit...chastise. "Sois maudis !" should be the right translation (phonetically: "sowa mawdee" and said by speaking through the nose and wearing curved thin moustache... ). However, I guess the french pilots said more something like "Merde ! Ct'enfoiré m'a touché !"(> Shit that f*** guy killed me!) or "Un schleu à 2 heures"(> A german at 2 o'clock) or "C'est bat, je rentre au bercail"(> Great, I'm landing) or "Bon dieu ! je l'ai dans ma queue"(>My godness, he is in my tail). Pachy, STEF_EAF and other from France, any suggestions ? Bon vol ! Arrowbase IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info guys.LOL, How about if Kirk, the pilot in the Spad XIII speaks with a French accent. You guys can make Dirk say anything you want. Just record it and save it as "GearMove.wav" or "BombDoors.wav" in the FokkerDVII / Sounds directory. ------------------ Raider 33rd~GS Raiders Site

Isn't "Zut Alors" close to a "Damn You"? One of my French profs in college gave us a three page list of phrases NOT to say in French...filled with nasty phrases, sexual phrases- you name it. I wish I still had it It would be fitting for a few instances like when you ground loop or taxi into a building (not that I do that at all )------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!
