Heya all,

Raider and I are proud to release the DVII_G final version and Dirk v.2 "The Mad Bomber"

This release will be apart of the contest released Plane Pack.

Basically the DVII model ahs remaind the same. We merly tweaked a few items here and there.

But the biggest addition is that of Dirk v2. "The Mad Bomber".

Yes you can actually drop bombs from the cockpit!!

For those who want the plane now may get it at the War Paint Factory.

Also the Hantelmann skin pictured above is also available at the Factory!

One suggestion about changing your keyboard.inp

Change cmdBomb = D to cmdBomb = A (or whatever you use for "inpMasterWeaponsArm"

This will arm the bomb and make Dirk reach over the left side of the DVII with bomb in hand.

Add cmdInsult = D (You know what that is for)

To release the bomb just use your "Weapons Release" key.

If you have any questions Please let us know.

Yes,

If you have used a previous verion of the DVII you will want to update your keyboard.inp as Raider has mentioned. This is also covered in the readme file.

Falck,
I will and thanks for the kind words

If you have downloaded the DVII and can not see the bomb you will need to do the following:

First,
If you dont already have one, create a folder named weaponsin your "aircraft" directory. (If you have a weapons folder already please move to the next step)

Next,
Open the FokkerDVII folder and cut the file named WWI50.sm and paste this into your newly created weapons folder.

Now you can use the Cockpit Bombing mission.

This has been fixed and a new zip uploaded to the War Paint Factory.

Sorry for the trouble.

LOL, Thanks Spanky, we are really hoping to attract some of the RB3D builders. They have a lot of talent over there.

For fun try bombing the hangers at the airfield. Just be sure you are not too close to the ground or the blast will get you too.

Spanky here...

Yeah I hate not being able to low level bomb. I wish the bombs didn't have such a huge area of effect.

I'll have to try this sucker out later today.

Spanky, you can adjust the amount of explosives. Zoy and I discussed this. We set it kind of high because we were not very good bombers. You can adjust it by changing this line in the DVII loadout.ppf

(ordHardpoint (ordName 'Hand ordClass 'Bomb ordModel 'WWI50 ordWeight 50 ordWarhead 25 ordNumber 2))

Change ordWarhead 25 to ordWarhead 10. This seem about right for an artillery shell.

But you have got to drop it right on target. You can fly much lower though. We will set the loadout.ppf to a lower number when the plane pack comes out to make it a little more challenging. We should all be better bombers by then.

graymon,

When did you download the new version?
Is this happening in the Cockpit-Bombing.MIS in the Training area? Right now this is the only mission with the bomb. We will be making more bombing missions avalible later. I have one you have got to see. I will tell you about it after we get you going.

The WWI50.sm should be in the following directory.

Fighter Squadron/Media/Aircraft/Weapons/

And the DVII loadout.ppf should have this line about 3/4 of the way down in the text.(ordLoadLightBombing
(ordInitList (
(ordHardpoint (ordName 'Hand ordClass 'Bomb ordModel 'WWI50 ordWeight 50 ordWarhead 25 ordNumber 2))

Please be sure that your startup.ppf has the following line. (I bet this is the problem)

"aircraft/weapons/WWI50.sm"

The startup.ppf we provided has the properties needed for the Jug and Hurricane as well.

If you have all this and it is still not working please post back. We want to get you bombing ASAP.

Heya,

It's not the mission. I just re installed FS and the DVII again. Hmm 4th time in the last 24 hours

Anyhow all files in the current zip extract and work fine in the game, including the Cockpit Bombing mission.

Graymon (and otherss) if you are still having trouble after checking the startup.ppf (which I also think is the problem) then I suggest that you download and re-install the DVII zip.

This will do 2 things. Make sure that you have the most recent version and make sure that all the files (startup.ppf) are present and correct.

Though we suggest that you back up your startup file before installing the DVII, we have actually made it so that the one we used includes the pp.5.3a update aswell as the references to the new contest planes as Raider has mentioned.

Hope this helps get this going for you.

Yes, graymon, I suggest using the startup.ppf supplied in the DVII download. I should be good for the other planes too.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Ok the pilot putting his hand out is not working. I have the startup.ppf correct, I have the weapons folder present and correct. What could be wrong? BTW please don't suggest a new install because I did that about a week ago and it took a full day and much pain to get it all working again. But I did lose about 250MB from the SDOE folder.

Snake, The new plane pack or contest pack overwrites your Keyboard.inp.

Pleae look and besure these lines are in there.

cmdBomb = A

cmdInsult = D

If not you will need to add them.

Please let me know if this is not the problem.

Oh yea you do not need to reinstall.

Thank you Mark,

Be sure to try nuum's amazing F2b(Check out the cockpit gauges and rear gunner station). Michael C. is finishing up on his beautful Camel. Ronin is making a very impressive Neuport 17. Sv and Pang are testing new airfoils with the Albatros Va (can't wait) and the SE5a with movable Lewis gun is killer. ReaperMan is reworking the Dr1a...Very nice. Sv is also making a new Zepplin and Jeeves it building a super campaign for WW I.

Also check out Attila's new Somme terrain. It really changes the face of this game. Looks like good times for WW I.

The input from the guys that fly RB3D is very helpful to us.

Again, Thank you for the kind words.

Well Raider-- I don't think I'd call it a "super" campaign The first one is a week in the life of a RFC pilot-- and has around two missions per day for a total of 14 (duh ) I wish I could do a dynamic campaign-- and probably will- but for now-- when I only have an hour or so per day to work- it's hard to do more than what I've done in the other campaigns. I really hope it matches up to all you guys' standards-- I only have acouple more to do-- then will start a German mini-campaign...a week in the life again- only with the newer Fokkers (DVII and DVIII).

Once all the planes are done (it's hard to say that though because hopefully- new planes will never stop being made)- but like when we have the Zepp, Camel, and Nieport done...and a bomber or two- I think I'll tackle a more involved campaign- but with the May 1st deadline- I just want to make a few mini-campaigns for you guys to play with. Hope you all like them.

BTW-- Sv I tried your Archie this morning-- top notch!! I thought at first- ha- those little puffs of flak-- no match for me...

then I saw the lead SE-5a get vaporized by one of them-- still very effective- but much more appropriate!! I only wish I had pictures to send you. I'll do some web-searching tonight and see what I can find.

------------------

Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

Spanky, Yes changing the loadout.ppf will cause online mismatch.

Jeeves, I ment "super" as in "Great". From what I have seen from your screen shots this should rock.
