Does anyone know how to take a snap shot, then fit it to the right size so it fits in the hanger section without degrading the image? I really need to get some images in there for all the planes this game has that don't come with their own snap shots.

I'm sure there IS a way, but I haven't exactly mastered it. Go to outside view, using the highest res you can, then zoom out quite a ways, so that the airplane looks rather small. That way you can cut out the right-sized image from your screenshot without having to shrink it. I can't remember the size of the hangar pix right now, but it's small (275x200 or so). As soon as you have to shrink your image, you lose the res.

Make a snapshot in 1024x768 (or higher) and zoom in so that the plane is about double as big as your final image should be. Go in any graphic program and resize the image 50% (some prgs like PSP give you options like resample,tri- or bilinear, pixel resize, etc. - try them all). I dont know if this helps you, but that gives the image a slight antialiasing effect.
