My activenet contact says that the servers are all running as they should.I've been able to connect the couple of times I tested it. Are they working for you? If not, which ones, and what happens? IP: Logged |

Most of the servers don't have rooms. Cali12 has no rooms and everyone has moved to Igateway.net at night. Just so people know. It's the new base of operations.

Michael,I have been checking every night and the only server which is showing lobbies is the igateway.net server. No other servers are responding to me? Some how I don't think the cali12 server is "running as it should". Just my 2 cents. I really love to have cali12 back up and running. Condor out ------------------

As of last night, only igateway, US3 ( I think...maybe 2) and UK1; all the rest, no lobbies. If I check the server listing, the dates of the ones not accessible are over a week old...as old as Mar 13 for California 12. The working ones show the current date.------------------ nealg=FC=

Way to stay on that monorail Siggi. Give it up. Harrison isn't going to do shit for us. He's got our cash. Suck it up or move it out. We have kept this fuckin sim alive for much longer than it natural life should be and we can't even get a fuckin patch! If it were not for the people that have put so much time and talent into this dog it would have been dragged off to the pound and shot a long time ago. I am tired of asking while he is fuckin around with this R/C bullshit. Meanwhile we are being treated like a bunch of red headed stepchildren. He is probably gonna tell me if I want a fight he'll give me one or somthing like that. hahaha He thinks hes so tough, ohhh I'm so scared of a guy who types out insults to me every 12 hours or so I go online. Oh no what will I do? Should I post a reply and risk getting called a silly billy again? No I don't think so.Carwash: at least he adds spice to these forums. hahaha Micheal Harrison good work so far and your R/C thing looks really good. Snake Well, what does Carwash have to say now? My guess is that he'll resort to mocking my heritage. Before you do that, Carwash, ask yourself did you celebrate St. Patricks Day? I quite liked it myself. No mincing of words there, concise, sharp and articulate. Gave me and my brother a bloody good laugh as well. As we say in England..."Give it some!!!" What is this "R/C" anyway? Is he buggering about with radio controlled airplanes now? I saw something about R/C planes being used for air-combat games; is MH involved? More to the point, do they have little guns? Bombs? Can the users make their own? I want a Stuka, with a big brick instead of the bomb. Will MH be present at the tournies? Will he be wearing body-armour? Just think...all those little planes buzzing about. MH in the judges stand. I suppose it'll have plexiglass screens all around, like in Robo-Wars. But my Stuka will have a fucking great brick, probably a breeze-block, but made out of concrete. It'll be an accident, but I won't need to aim or even drop the brick. I'll just fly the whole frigging plane through the screen. The little gas-tank will be full of course. I wonder if a damage-patch will sort out the carnage. I'll be wanting a medal, naturally, something like what Erich Rudell got. Nice!

Evidently Prop, you've conveniently forgotten that we haven't gotten any of your money. We haven't seen a dime since FS shipped and never will from any sales of that game. Every cent of your money has gone straight to Activision and stayed there. We do not receive any money from the sales of FS and never will. IP: Logged |

MH, we had all this out 8-odd months ago. Nobody expected you to help-out, considering you would get nothing and had to put food on the table etc. But, under the condition that it wouldn't happen quickly, you gallantly volunteered to sort out a sim that had been released in a piss-poor state. We hailed you as 'The Good Guy' and activision as a bunch of cheap crooks. You then received mucho kudos, as befitted your hero status. We then got a few promises from you about how you hoped to have the patch "finished by the weekend" or "at the start of the new year" It's march 2000 now. Squad play remains dead. We understand, from your site's info page, that work progresses on the big patch. I'm curious to know why it wouldn't have been sensible, in your opinion, to put out a patch that addressed solely the damage issue online? Just a little patch for that prob would have kept the squads playing and SDoE online would probably have been huge by now. As it is the lobbies are a mere shadow of what they should be. Please tell me, am I missing something here? If not we'd like all the kudos back please...I'd like to re-locate mine, ta very much. IP: Logged |

Siggs, Things don't always work out the way you hope. There are any number of things that, had they gone the way we wanted, would have ensured several finished patches, possibly new features, etc. They didn't go the way we wanted. I haven't had the free time I expected, either at work or at home. I did not ask for your hails and kudos. I do not come here looking for either one. if you think that's the case, you are quite mistaken. One reason that there hasn't been "one" patch for net play is that we operate from one codebase. Given our size and our company focus over the last year, it didn't make sense to maintain several codebases as I patched FS code and worked on designs and such for potential and new projects. This essentially means that you can have all the work we've done (which means current bugs) up to this point in a FS patch, or you can have nothing. At this point I have FS running again with a few graphics bugs which are due to be fixed as part of our current project. I will be testing it and if I don't find anything too horrible, I'll release it as the next beta. IP: Logged |

I have yet to find a flight on the servers that are accessed via SDOE. The other night I could see games on the UK servers but when I went into demons I saw the pings there at 9999 as were a couple others. Ok my problem, which hopefully will clear up my first one. I am confused at to what I need to connect to said servers. After CD install, I ran the "FSC151b5" patch, Planepack 5.3, and 5.3a. Is there something missing? Something not letting me see flights on the servers? I can connect great on Kali using the IPX protocal, but trying to find a wingman is like trying to find a hooker who takes American Express! Any Ideas?Regards, BlueBalls IP: Logged |

My answer to that, Mike (old pal, old buddy ), is "Open Communication"You could have posted, a few months ago, something like this: "Well guys, I've made a few promises, given the impression that things were going to be sorted pretty soon...but...things have gotten squirrily. A whole lot of un-forseen shit has come down and I'm lucky if I'm able to put in a single hour a week on SDoE. This means the patch could be many months away and probably will be. I do intend to complete it, but B17-2 will very likely have been out for some time before SDoE is fixed. There's really nothing I can do about this, it's just the way things have panned out. I hope you can all bite your teeth hard and try to live without online squad play for the forseeable future...I will complete, just no idea now when that will be. Cheers suckers! ( last bit's a little joke of mine, DON'T GET ALL LAREY ON ME NOW! ) Well, what do you reckon? Reasonable or what? Yes, you know it makes sense! IP: Logged |

Crankshaft, That patch is the beta and is not flown online very much. You will find much more action on the normal SDOE 1.5 servers. Make sure you have installed:1.5 patch 5.3 plane pack 5.3a patch And are running SDemons.exe (not App.exe) More info is available at: www.fightersquadron.com/warpaint/standard.htm Also, you can check the action on the servers at: http://tailslide.firelight.dynip.com/?page=http://tailslide.firelight.dynip.com/sdoe_servers.asp Hope this helps Esox=FC= IP: Logged |

I agree with Zoy, if you don't like it get out, don't air your crap to some of the others that see the effort that has been put forth in this sim. How do you think that you make others feel with that talk. Others that have fun with this that don't see it as a profit or loss, but as just something to do thats kinda fun. Crankshaft, you need the first official patch to see anyone on the servers, v1.5. Install that directly after the cd install less you edit your sdemons.ini and keyboard.inp file and it fails to update because of this. It requires the standard ini/inp files as above to install properly. If you have altered your ini/inp files just copy them someplace and grab the ones off the cd until after the update. Slk, airing the crap as you say can be productive, if we never said a thing would 1.5 have been the final word? Probably. That doesn't mean I support abusive comments neither, just a right to be heard. Either way, I would still like to think nay's as well as yay's are still a part of free speech on this board. Propwash's posts, I just think they're funny and I find his/her right to speak their mind just as correct as anyone else's. :P

Crank Almost everyone still flies the 1.5 version for several reasons- framerate, graphic anomalies, some bugs... I actually prefer it, but most people prefer 1.5. This will be the "standard" until MH's newer patch comes out. The flight models and planes are all contained within 5.3 and 5.3a. The newest planes must be downloaded seperately. Flying the newest planes can be tricky due to the fact that not everyone has them all, and there are diferent versions. Soon, there will be a pack for all of these planes. WWI pack is already out . Hope this helps, Esox=FC= IP: Logged |

I have to say that the patch thing is not just an issue for SDOE but for all sims. We as the consumers must clearly stare our discontent or we have no hope of getting the kind of service we should have a right to expect from the sim producers. If MH is inocent of having conspired to sell an incomplete product thats fine. What troubles me is that if he and other like him will inadvertantly suffer when there is a failure to produce the product that they advertise. Now I could leave and not come back but that is not going to help anyone. I have and will again state that it is in MH's best interest to speedly produce a patch. I don't really care one way or the other about the patch the patch itself is a secondary issue. The issue here is the fulfillment of a promise that is the contract between a manufactor and the consumer. IMHO IP: Logged |
