repost from another thread for wider viewing...

The B-24 and PBY Catalina are still sitting here on my PC. Within the next couple of months I'm getting out (separating after 11 years) from the US Air Force, and therefore am pretty busy just out processing and finishing up my last few weeks at work. Just figuring out moving and all that goes with it will keep us busy for a while. After we get settled wherever I'm sure I'll jump back into it. Thanks for your patience. If anyone would RATHER start doing some serious work on them NOW I could email a couple of you what I have and do a team effort on them. I don't usually work that way, but since they are both pretty big jobs I wouldn't mind.
Any takers?

If so email me at pthawk@castles.com or c5fe@hotmail.com if that first one gets kicked back for some reason. But I check the first one MUCH more than the hotmail one.

Specify Team Liberator or Team Catalina in the Subject heading and we'll get something started

Pete I love the PBY. I used to want one really bad when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm capable of making a plane at this time. I just don't have the skill yet. I hope to try to learn soon. It scares ,e since I haven't programmed anything since I tried some Visual Basic ages ago.

I hope somebody else will try to finish it. I love the stories on the Discovery Channel about late night anti-shippng attacks by PBY's painted with candel black. Has anyone else seen that?

Heya Pete--

I think with the extension of the deadline until Sunday that many of the modelers are tweaking their planes at the last minute...give it a day or two and see what happens. Also- maybe the fact that the PBY can't land in the water is hampering some people-- although with Falck and Razor747 having figured out the gear DOFs on the Wildcat- I don't think it's a stretch to get that working on the PBY...similar gear, right? I don't mind landing on the ground and it could add to the Midway campaign too...having a Catalina spot the Japanese fleet...man I hope it gets done!! I am also not a modeler...but hope to see someone pick up where you have again set the standard!

So far on Team Liberator we have

Me
Brandor at Combatsim (Ed Reddy)
Razor747 (James Smith)
Marcus Cupp

For Team Catalina we have

Me
Terry Butterfield (Snickers)
Marcus Cupp

Anyone else interested? I don't want huge teams but a few more wouldn't hurt.
