Salute,I am a brand-new FS pilot - well, actually the game is still on its way to my home. But I want to be prepared and scanned the web for useful FS addons & stuff. Now I found that there is something like an online standard: [list]

PlanePack 5.3But what about patch 1.5.1? From what I read about it adds quite a lot of stuff, tweaks FMs and disables some bugs. Is this (beta) patch advisable? What's the newest version? Do I have to install the official patch first? How to add the plane pack then? I got most of my infos from Lectors page, which is btw very, very good! But it still lacks a little help on installing add-ons... What I downloaded:

PlanePack 5.2 & 5.3 & 5.3 fix
Ground Crew
nations
SDOE Control 2000
SDOE SafeNetPack
SDOE Tracker
SS PP fix
Meatwater & GunJam Sounds

Seems like you've got most of the stuff you need to really enjoy this sim. The 1.5.1 patch is an unsupported and unofficial patch that I feel really makes the game what it should be. I use it all the time as it allows you to up the resolution when using glide(3dfx) cards. Make sure you check the readmes ion all the files you've got especially the plane pack as it needs to be installed to the media directory. Best of luck.... See you online (A fantastic experience!) PlanePak 5.3 replaces 5.2.When you start accumulating a lot of skins you should get Chameleon. It allows mass skin changes by Theater on the fly. IP: Logged |

Man, I would hate to be just joining the community right now.
You think I get confused now, you wouldn't be able to swing a dead cat with hitting a "Help Gunner" post,lol.
Don't let that scare ya Kirin. The guys are allot of help. Just ask and you shall be granted knowlege.
We are all nice guys (except for Propwash & BBQ, or are they the same guy?, Hmm)until we meet you in the sky. Then its every man for himself, hehe.

Kirin, if have installed PP5.2 and then 5.3+patch, I hope you noticed that you had to delete Data14 and Data15.par from the game now (just thought I'd mention it just in case)Also, although Patch 1.5.1 beta is pretty good, don't try to use it online unless you've seen specified that that patch will be used, it's not "online standard" and because of this, if you go into the net games using that patch, you probably wont see anybody or any games listed, but you can install the patch and still use the 1.5 patch because as you've probably seen, 1.5.1 starts with a different exe file. You can use your original exe file to start for online gaming. Othere than those points, from what I see above, you've got everythig you need, and everything thats good to add, just stick around and there will always be more and more  Welcome to the community, and above all else...
