Topic: Strobing In P-47 Detailed Cockpit

I loaded up the new P-47 and included the new high detailed (realistic) cockpit but I get strobing (for lack of a better term) of shapes/details on the mag heading indicator and attitude indicator. The rest of the cockpit is fine. This is with a FPS of 30+ both on the ground stopped and in flight. It was too distracting so I went back to the basic cockpit. I can't recall if I'm running FS on my ge-Force 3D Prophet or in SLI 3Dfx twin 12 MB graphics. However, the aircraft and flight model is great! So far I've only flown a few of the new aircraft - but already I can tell that this is going to be one tough decision on voting. So far all the aircraft I have flown deserve a prize!!!! ------------------

No, FPS problems for me with my Voodoo3 2000, but the upper two indicators in the realistic cockpit are flickering. But the Jug is perfect!!! My compliments!Cya! Ash IP: Logged |

I get low FPS even with the low cockpit. around 20 and i'm on a 533 with Voodoo3 and 128 megs o ram. I also saw the flicker in the high detail too. I love the cockpit. I wish we could change the P51 cockpit to look as good. or at least make the frams look more round.------------------

Whether your using a Voodoo card and Glide or a Nvidia card with D3D ...... If you have Vsync "disabled" your will get texture flickers or "tears" ... If your enable Vsync, You'll lose a FPS or two ... but the overall visual is smoother with no flikering or tearing. Oh, and the Fastprops look 100% better! Unfortunately, I was only able to test it in D3D. If Zur's suggestion doesn't fix it, it might be some of the poly flags. I will look into it.

What frast prop? The one that came with the 47 was the old one i through on the Spit IX before the final 5.3 release, and it looks crappy because i added to much blurring. I made one last night for the 47 and it looks sweet ass. It's not thick like the one i did before. In fact it's pretty thin, but it looks sweet running. i'll post screen shots tonight when i get home.------------------

Running in Glide I get exactly the same effect that Speedbrake discribes with the detailed cockpit.------------------ Yardstick painted this

Doesn't happen with the optimized cockpit? Hmmm.... that's a clue.... that leads me to believe I set the polyflags wrong. Sorry, I'll make sure that gets fixed in the next release (after the contest).IP: Logged |
