I haven't had a chance to download the Jug yet, but I have the Hurri (beautiful job BTW) flying OK.Seems to me we've reached a point where the builders need to help guys to get their planes installed tho. IMO it's probably not a good idea to have your "new" startup.ppf AUTOMATICALLY installed by the zipfile. Name it something like startup.F4U and then put in your readme file step-by-step instructions for how to update their own startup.ppf file.
Otherwise, you're gonna see a lot of posts like: "Hey the DVIII was working great yesterday, but ever since I installed the P-47, I get a CTD! Wassupwitdat?" It's GREAT that guys actually built the new airfoils (too clueless here on that stuff yet)
but the startup.ppf file has to know about everyone's airfoil, and if your file just overwrites the previous one, anyone who doesn't have their "degree in Openplane Technology" is gonna be stumped as to what happened.
Heck, I sorta knew what I was doin, but even I didn't know that the airfoil names were CASE SENSITIVE. I just got the Hurri working through blind luck.
Just a suggestion. Once you know what to do, it's an easy fix. But if you DON'T already know the trick...
At the very least, I think I'd include either a .bat file that saved their old startup.ppf for em or instructions to do that in the readme.
Hehe like I should be suggesting anything about zipfiles...yeah right!
