Snake found another bug in the Corsairs; namely, that you can't have more than one kind of Corsair in a mission. And undoubtedly some folks are still having problems getting the Birdcage version to show up, or look right.So...another patch is being uploaded, as we speak In this one, I've made the file references in each .sm file unique so that they should all be distinct aircraft in a mission. I also corrected a problem with the two Corsair squadrons included in the earlier pack. The patch is called, oddly enough, PatchF4U.zip It can be found at... http://sites.netscape.net/jeditaub/Downloads Third time's the charm...I hope. Be sure to clear any extra .sm files out of your folders. You should end up with four folders, f4u, f4u1, f4u4, and cors2. In each folder should be ONE .sm file of the same name as the folder. Good luck... ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

I don't know whether to give points for customer service, or take them away for making me download over and over.... . I guess I'll have to give at least one point...IP: Logged |

This could cause some confusion but make things easier by updating your F4u pack with all the patches pre-installed. You could also maybe do this with single F4u's so there isnt all the d/loads. Just a suggestion.------------------ Raptor2 IP: Logged |

Jedi I now get the Corsair MkII and the rest are the same. I have a mission with 4 Corsairs in it. The Royal Navy one always appears but the other three are all the same. Not just skins but 3 same a/c. SnakeIP: Logged |

OK, I'll check it again. Confirm for me that you have all four aircraft functioning correctly in SEPARATE missions, i.e. you do in fact have four different planes.I have a mission with all four models in it working fine. I may have messed up a zipfile somewhere. Did you download the PatchF4U.zip file, or the new F4UPack.zip, or the individual files, or what?

Hmmm. The PatchF4U.zip shoulda fixed it. Maybe try to build another fresh mission with all the planes in it. The one I built is a training mission for the Birdcage, with two "enemy" F4U-4 inflight, one "enemy" RN Corsair on one end of the runway, and one "enemy" F4U-1D at the other end. I'll send it to ya and you can test it out.Make sure you have only one .sm file in each aircraft/f4uX directory (each file should be from the 20th of March). If you have an art program that can read .tif files, you can check the .tifs for each Corsair to make sure I didn't send the wrong ones. The skin .tifs are called f4u11.tif and f4u12.tif. One thing I haven't tried is to clear out all my Corsairs and install the pack into my own game. I thought I was pretty meticulous in building the last version, but who knows? You could download the whole pack again If you don't have anything better to do, I'd say try that--just move ALL your Corsair folders someplace safe and reinstall from the new file. I'm sure we can get it working tho. It's workin on my system. At least you've got all of the planes working... Hehe and I'd say YOU'RE the patient one ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |
