Believe it or not, this is a real skin, except for the red band on the cowling, but wait until you try to paint it to see what i mean And finally, my favorite God bless the Wolfpack. If its using more then the rest of the plane i think thats not a good thing. Its easy to dress up a plane by using up all the texture ram. If your not using 10 of them. Whats your secret? IP: Logged
JT Pilot	posted 03-19- 09:43 PM Believe it or not, the exterior skin only uses 2 256x256 TIFs. The way we did it is we put all the textures down like puzzle pieces, with very little wasted space. It was a bitch to map, but I think we found a sweet spot as far as resolution/memory usage. Also, Dan W., who painted the sucker, is just damn good. Daniel Davis Cadet	posted 03-19- 10:24 PM Oh man! This P-47 is absolutely awsome! I've been waiting for this thing. When I was a kid, I read THUNDERBOLT by Robert S. Johnson. I think I must have read it 6 times. To me, thing sim won't be right without the 47. It will be the closest thing to an old fantasy of flying one that I'll ever know...but it'll be great. JT Pilot	posted 03-19- 10:58 PM It will be available in a few hours, Tail... I'm just buttoning everything up and organizing the files. There will be two cockpits you can choose from... a very sparse, optimized cockpit and a mega-detailed cockpit (and I do mean mega... more detailed and more accurate than Jane's). I'm thinking I'll make the optimized cockpit the default, but it will be very easy to switch between the two... and it won't create conflicts online, either. We built over the Spit, so there is a separate cockpit .sm file. IP: Logged
