First one to respond, who meets the criteria, gets it: Intel P2-333 CPU.
Criteria: Currently running a slower chip and unable to afford an upgrade, student or unemployed etc. But if it's someone I hate I don't want to hear about that 166 you're running, you can KISS MY ARSE!

Spanky here... I'm up for something like that man. I'm running a p2 266
and me and mad dog are spliting it. We are trying to upgrade and build a second computer so we can both fly at the same time. It would be greatly apreciated and loved.
We are in Canada BTW. Also i am unemployed and mad dog is Under employed. He's a game reviewer. hehe

Unfortuneatly (spelling?) I live in the states, If that's a problem  , if not then super This P.O.S. AMD 300 I got is so slowwww, (even Overclocked) I could probably do the Floating point calculations faster in my head.
I've got an extra board for a Slot 1 CPU, just have'nt got the $$$ to find a mate. Question Though, is it one of the Pent II's that has the core Voltage locked on the chip?? Doesn't really matter, just wondering. I'm working on getting my Bachelors Degree in Comp. Applied Science at the local Community College. Next year I'll have my Accosiates Degree, then I'm Moving up to the State College to finish my Bachelors. I'm married, wife has a part time job, I've got a part time job, (going to school full time) and I drive an old '78 Ford 4x4 Pickup, do you think I have any extra money?? HAHAHA, hell no (Too much info huh?) Consider me a canidate, and if not, no harm done. This comp. will get me buy until schools finished, then LOOK OUT cause I'm gonna build a Speed demon, overclocked, RAM infested, CD burnin', Double CPU havin', Windows 2000 Monster. Spanky here... I don't know Sabre66 I'm unemployed running on a Borrowed P2 266. And Mad Dog doesn't even Own a computer and he's a game reviewer. So he has to borrow my lender just to do his job. Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues.

Monty Python rocks!
I've seen the three movies plus Hollywood Bowl and many of the Flying Circus skits.
Even watched "double-vision mountaineering" in German on a German station. Still funny, even though I couldn't understand. Life of Brian is definitely one of my favorite movies.

Sabre, please mail me your address. I'll send you a stick of 128Mb PC100 RAM. There's no garauntee it'll work well mixed with your other RAM, though I've noticed almost no probs when I've done that. There's supposed to be potential probs with different RAM brands being slightly out of sync speed-wise. Whatever, give it a go. IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. I don't think its as cut and dry as that spyder. But it doesn't matter. I'm only running it at 66 mhz anyway. So yeah its running slow. But i don't have a CPU to take advantage of the 100mhz bus anyway. Having 96megs over 64megs at 100mhz I would if i was only running the pc100 ram makes up for it. Spanky here.. Yep he drops arguments based on facts and resorts to personal attacks. Thats a great idea. Show me your source claiming that some PC66 ram Can't run at 100mhz? As far as I know the PC66,PC100 and PC133 ratings, where just that RATINGS. They were guaranteed to run at that speed. It doesn't mean they couldn't have had a good yeild that ran even faster. Somewhat similar to CPUs.

I definitely remember reading something somewhere about overclocking RAM. The reason I remember it so clearly is I thought "For fuck's sake, now they're overclocking RAM? Why don't they just go buy the right sort instead of risking damage to their rigs?!".
The answer, incidentally, is not everyone can afford to buy all this purposefully up-teched hardware.
On a lighter note Intel, in their greed, have come unstuck in their attempts to foist yet more up-teched shite on us. Go read the article on Rambus RDRAM...Intel have really got what they deserved. IP: Logged |
