I originally posted this in the Help/Faq side
but this is a busier forum

Is there a way to remap the keyboard and
joystick ,especially the views?

So far, I've tried changing the text file
but I can't see any difference and there is
no reference to modifying the JoystickPOV
settings

Thanks,

MikeM

Your looking to edit the keyboard.inp file

excert from it....................

IMPORTANT
A semicolon ';' defines a comment line in this file. Any lines in this file that do not contain an input command definition, must start with a semicolon to prevent the input system from attempting to interpret the line.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Here is an example of some line you could edit relating to view keys.........

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

inpViewPOV = JoystickPov

inpViewForward = Bounce Numpad8
inpViewAft = Bounce Numpad2
inpViewLeft = Bounce Numpad4
inpViewRight = Bounce Numpad6

Good luck and I hope this helps.

yeah I was going to do a gui for it a long time ago but with the bounce and other options it would be a difficult one to implement.
A simple gui for mapping the joystick buttons would be ok but having addtional info implemented with the | key causes headaches.
ie. inpViewZoomIn = Bounce LeftBracket | Bounce Mousebutton0
The keyboard.inp is quite straightforward to edit though I can see newbies missing out on a lot of usefulness not wanting to do this manually and missing out on mouse panning etc.

Hmmm...

I've changed those settings but my views are
still restricted to left, right and back

How do you program the hat and joystick buttons for up/front, up/back etc?

I can't see any place to do this in the
config file?

Cheers

MikeM

PS what is mouse panning? use the mouse instead of a joystick...using them BOTH would require a third hand, no? (g)
