Read that book. Pretty amazing stuff to shoot down two planes after your own is barely holding together. (sarcasm detected)
I believe the author took some creative license here. Coulda happened i guess.

Also pretty heoric was strafing that German guy he shot down just because he pulled a schmeisser (MP40-technically) from his cockpit and started shooting at Tuck.
With the benefit of not having been there, I woulda have laughed at the guy cos' he's hardly gonna shoot old tuck down. (well not after he's been strafed, anyway)

Yeah, good point Tiger2. Saying as the German pilots gunner was lying riddled in the cockpit, I dont think he'd have been in the mood for a friendly wave. Still, who knows how we'd react in situations like these?
