Recently read on AGW about how much SDOE has improved since it's first release. I'm now pretty keen to reload it and catch up on all of the patches/plane updates etc, as well as getting in contact with any Australian SDOE pilots.....

So a couple of questions.

1. Could any Aussies out there give me a hoy at rkath@ozemail.com.au and let me know when you fly online? How are the connections - laggy or playable??

2. Could anyone please update me on what is latest and greatest in regards to what I need to d/l to get online?

All help appreciated!!!

Those are the essentials, everything after that is a bonus, there's lots of new stuff out there, and lots of addons. You can find alot at my site, and there are links to other sites for you to rummage through from there

There are a few Aussies there on cali12. The best part of SDOE is the
comaraderie(sp), probably not unlike warbirds. Tha fact that SDOE has
received a lot of bagging, a lot of it unwarranted, has really enhanced
and bettered the support from SDOE enthusiasts and really helped
contribute to the community atmosphere on the board.

hehe, i must say the the simpsons is one of the most perceprtive shows
I've ever watched.

Aussie pilots did have a thing going on the Aussie server Wed nights from about 8 PM. I haven't been able to fly for a few weeks now so I don't know what the current status is. I should be able to drop by this week though.

Thunder are ya there mate ?? Is Wed nights still a happening thing ??

If ya can't get a game there go to cali12 as mentioned above.

Another question re: skins (Nice site BTW AGAS!!). Are skins relevant online?? IE - does it matter if not everyone in a game session has the same skin sets?

Anyhoo - look forward to seeing you guys "up!!"

The skins you see online are the ones either in your texture folder for each aircraft or if you have none there, the default skins in your .par file that came with the game (superseded by the latest Plane Pack).

e.g. if you were to place an aussie P51d skin the texture folder for the P51d, then all P51d's in the game (online or offline)would appear as that extact same skin.

I don't know if we can change this for online play. May involve too may overheads and slow the game down. May also involve work with the source code - which we haven't got access to (yet). Like I said, I dunno !

You can get around this for offline play though. For instance, I have have four Aussie Spits that appear as 'different' aircraft. I'm in the process of putting instructions on how to do this on my site (when I get time - don't hold ya breath - sorry)
