I have just recently gone throught the one hour odeal of downloading PP5.3. I must say that it is worth it. I appreciate all of the work put into this game. Thanks! I do have a couple of questions though. 1. Will there be a Japanese version soon (SDOA)? 2. If there is, could someone build a mission that recreates the Yamamoto Raid? Let me know. Thanks...

there are currently ppl working on a Japan Nation addon or SDOE, and we have a couple of Japanese a/c, A6M5 Zero and a beta Ki61 Hein. There is alos a beta terrain out of the Pacific so that you can create Pacific missions, there is a Corsair F4U1 and a F4F to comlmpliment the missions. And still more, there are other Japanese aircraft carriers in the works )

My wish has alos been for the Yamamoto... what a ship! But so far everyone is tied up building for a competition thats running for a couple more weeks, so we're all hoping for some good stuff in the very near future )

You know, I was just thinking... the Yamato wasn't at Midway right? Wasn't it kind of held in reserve until the very end, then used as a decoy ship? Well, what if it had been at Midway... I bet that the US would have gone after it possibly even in favor of hitting the carriers. The Japanese could have gotten off another strike against the US carriers on the scene... I wonder if that would have changed the course of history? Of course, was the Yamamoto even built by 1942?

Just idle thinking :-)

Guys, the Yamato was the huge Japanese battleship.

Yamamoto was one of the leading Japanese Naval Admirals. Here's a link to the raid on Yamamoto.

I believe this is what weasel had in mind. The names are similar and easy to confuse.

You got it Dauntless, posted before I did.. ;}
It would be impossible at the moment to do that flight... it was over 800 miles to catch that flight, and would take quite awhile. I also believe that they used the P-38 L which is not modeled here yet. And of course the Japanese Betty.
I do agree though, it would be a great mission to fly, although a bit of anti-climax considering the targets are pretty easy, just avoid the 20MM in the tail.. ;}

OFFICIAL nations v1.0 should be out by the end of the week. I'm just waiting for approval from my partners in crime.

Dauntless is correct, I was talking about taking out the Betty's with the General on board. There were a couple of zero's flying escort though. They probably thought they were on a milk run when the P-38's showed up. Then they ran off. This could be played out in sort of a what if scenario. Make it a little more challenging. The P-38L could be developed in time. Not much different than the 'J'. What is 'OFFICIAL nations' that Werner Molders is talking about?

It's as much a patch to the original game as the plane packs are. It'll add the soviet union, fascist italy and japan. We're trying to fix an online bug with sov. & ita. and then we'll release. next on deck are france and holland.
