For this Sunday's online session we are using the Beta 1.5.1 (Build 65) available from www.dragonseye.com The session starts at the normal time of 8:30pm GMT on the "uk1" server - this is NOT the same as 1.5 server listed on web pages, so don't be alarmed if there doesn't appear to be anyone online! I am posting this earlier than normal this week to enable everyone to sort out any problems with the install - quite straight forward - just remember to run the app.exe (or FSC Beta shortcut) and not the normal shortcut for SDOE. I personally have installed the Beta into my current SDOE folder without problems - if you are worried about doing this then make a fresh install into a different folder. Read the http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000884.html thread for more information. Any question? ------------------ Jagdverband 44

Perhaps not everyone is willing to use the beta version? How about we use the beta (1.5.1) version from 8:30 until 9:30pm (GMT) to see how it goes, then revert back to the normal 1.5 version for the rest of the evening?Okay? ------------------ Jagdverband 44

Hey Jet, Ill be there with both installs ready to go Was away so I didn t see the post.. Hope we'll be as many as usual especially for the build65 test as I'm quite sure only positive things will come out from using it online. Well at least that the + points of 1.5.1 beta 5 compared to 1.5 will overcome its -'s------------------ ___________ -=BAB=-Luny

I went to the picnic that the JV44 put together today. Wow, what a showing to! It got so big at times we had to split up into groups.I really enjoyed flying with the Beta Build 65 too. My frame rates were fantastic, and it seemed that way all around. We did have a little trouble with airfoil matches, but Rattler soon figured that out and off we went. I was feeling a little ill twoards the end, and had to bail out, but I wanted to thank all the guys. There were far to many flying to name, but that last group was my Squaddie Gecko (thanks buddy!) Tail, and Rattler. They were great, and they won too! This picture isn't spectacular in and of itself. It's just a picture of Tailslide landing, after sucessfully (with Rattler) knocking me and Gecko out of the sky. It does show a perfect way to end a mission in a great game. Thanks again, to everyone! PR=FC= IP: Logged |

I had fun too.. I didn't crash to desktop once and the bomb bug seems to be gone. The damage bug is still there though and under direct 3d the guages and some scenery flickers. I was getting < 20fps on some of the Spit IX vs 109A3 fights on a p3-650 but other than that it was very smooth. Mr. Blob's B17 mission was one of the highlights for me even though Jetlag shot my wing off TS IP: Logged |

Hi guys!Yep, it really was a blast! No CTD's for me either, although I had to restart SDOE on two occasions because I got the "unable to join game" message. Online play was very smooth, but there are a few bugs left in build65. The gunsight on most planes works as X-ray vision through clouds. The clouds very also quite blocky, I have to try if deleting the SDOE buffer file helps. And like TS said, the damage bug seemed to still be there TS, about the frame rate. I hosted those 6vs6 A3 vs IX games, and I got 30fps+ all the time. I have Celeron 638, 128MB, Voodoo3@1024x768, cable modem. It might have something to do with you running D3D? Furballing in the puffy clouds, no hud, no planes on map - it was great! A3 vs IX is a good match, teamwork was the deciding factor! Cya next sunday again Camo ------------------ Camouflage XO, Lentolaivue 34 www.muodos.fi/LLv34 "The really good pilots use their superior judgment to keep them out of situations where they might be required to demonstrate their superior skill."
