A wish for help again.

The P47 could be equipped with a number of different kind of rockets for ground attacks.

The one I've found most references to is a 5" HVAR, which I assume is the same as the rocket for the P51 in SDOE. Others were in use, though, but I have not been able to find any data on them what so ever.

Also... railings, tubes, whatever that they were kept on. Descriptions, images, anything.

Can anyone lend a hand?

Hey,
I just did some reading on the subject. Apparently, the bazooka style launchers weren't phased out until like the D-40, which is way past what we're working on, which is the D-25 to D-28 series. Now, whether the bazooka style launchers fired different kinds of rockets, I don't know.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention that to save you some time.

I've got a real good cutaway of the P-47 and its weapons (but alas, no scanner)

The "bazooka" launchers look like 3 tubes just strapped together. The rocket fired by this looks like a scaled-down German bomb, or an elongated cannon round, as opposed to the 5-inch rockets, which it could also carry, and look like the rockets on the P-51.

Jedi,

Great news. You don't happen to have any data on those bazooka style rockets? I can't do 3D modeling anyway, so for me that's a lost cause, but I might make whatever it'll look like behave like the real thing.

Bjorn,

I should be able to get to the hobby shop tommorow and check out that P47 Book.

Dan,

Don't go out and spend money for my sake. If you want it anyway, though, I'd appreciate whatever you may find in it.

According to the cutaway, the rocket launcher is called an M-10. It fires 3 M-8, 11.5 cm rockets. If you've ever seen a Russian torpedo in one of those sub movies, it looks like that, only more pointy

That's about the total of my knowledge on them...
