OK, Version 4 of the Corsair is up. Flight model tweaked--takeoff and landings easier, but not easy. Airplane will spin now if you're hamfisted enough New sounds added, new missions added, new gunsight, fixed pilot, new shadow (thanks Razer!)

The file is called F4uVer4.zip. No patch this time, since the patch turned out almost as big as the whole enchilada. You probably want the whole thing now anyway--lots of file references have changed.

Get it here:

And hopefully here:
www.fshangar.com

(a little later on)

For you mission-hacker types, there is also a version with the wings folded for placement on carriers and whatnot. It's called ParkHog.zip. You will need the main Corsair file as well, because all the texture references are to the main one. Only a couple of missions included for the parked Hog, just to fool around with.

Enjoy!

Jedi, why don't you tie the wing fold to the engine key. This way when the engine is started, the wings will fold down, and vice versa. The bonus, is that the AI will beable to fly this plane too, as they havto start the engine to take off.

Just an Idea.

Cheers!

I haven't had any success tying a DOF to one of the "inp" commands. If you use a "cmd" command, it works fine, but the ones that are "inp," like the engine, didn't seem to work when I put it in the DOF properties.

I could try it again tho. Anyone know if you can link a DOF to an "inp" type command?

Along the same lines, (if it can be figured out how to be done...) start with the cockpit open. Close it automatically after ????? (I'm not the creative one) It needs to hapen only once though, so you can open it in flight.

Another approach would be to change the 'E' key to be a cmd, and execute the inp in the cmd's func.
