Hi all,Some skins I did after becoming frustrated with AC3D (you plane builders frig'n amaze me !) You will be able to find them in about an hour at the link below.  These skins are 95% accurate for a Ki 61. If there is enough interest I can do a few more. For anyone interested, although I believe the 109 looks similar to the Ki 61, the He 100 is more accurate. It's just that I find the 109 skin easier to paint (not as many .tif files to do) Cheers, AGAS 5 ------------------

Well. Piss poor timing on my behalf. Razer has just announced his real Ki 61 under 'Tech Talk'. A beta may be released shortly. Jump over there and have a look - it's an outstanding bit of work.I'll still post these soon though ..... there just might be someone out there interested ! BRAVO!!! you saved me a little work. I can add a couple more to the JAP-109 collection if interested. Apparently we have found the same pics. I have the brown skin on the He- 100. Couldn't render the tail due to the 100's mapping. Did that one after feeling a little "heat" from Razer about how the 109 looks "NOTHING" like the Tony. I guess we'll have to convert them or scrap them now that the real Tony is ready to fly. (Just a note, aren't the belt stripes a bit high. A VERY friendly observation.)IP: Logged |

Thanks Bullet.Yep, the belt is a tad high. I'm still having problems coming to grips with GIMP and what it can/can't do. After a bit of frustration this was my best compromise. As far as which plane looks more like the Ki 61, I think that both have similarities. I think Razer made the right choice of aircraft though and his beta looks great. I painted up the 109 because of the more complex texturing of the He 100 - its as simple as that. The good news is that I believe Razer is aiming for just the two .tif files for the Ki-61's skin.
