With the deadline date fast approaching, it looks like I might not be able to finish all the skins that I had planned for the contest. Without getting into a long story, I simply won't have the time to complete them if I take a potential job offer. So, to compliment the two versions that I will definitely have done, I would like to ask for opinions/votes on what additional theme to try to complete. I have spent an assload of time on just one skin and it's roughly half finished. In my research, I have found these possible themes to complete:1. RAF Pacific. The RAF operated Mk I and Mk II Thunderbolts in the PTO. They had two differnt schemes: Bare metal and Earth Brown/Forest Green. If this is the most popular, then the cammo skin will get done. 2. Mexican AF Pacific. Mexico also operate Tbolts in the PTO. These were bare metal. 3. Red Army. I finally found some references to Soviet P47D's. These were olive drab. 4. Free French. Cammo...grey and green. 5. Brazilian AF. Operated in the MTO. Bare Metal and cammo. 6. Italian AF. Believe it or not, they flew T Bolts after defeated. 7. Good Ol' Plain Jane AAF Olive drab. I figure I would find out what people would be interested in. Thanks IP: Logged |

Dan- Good luck with the job! It's a hard choice, but I vote American, then Red Army, then France. Also, if you have information on these themes that is post-able, please do so as it would be nice to see all of these options available! Also, what does "MTO" mean? Meditteranean? I was planning on doing a Mexican PTO skin when this plane came out but, since your asking...how about just leaving us with one bare metal skin. I'm sure the other nations and differant units will show up quickly since this IS a most popular plane.IP: Logged |

Let me clarify, the above seems rather misleading. There will be TWO American schemes...with a few variations, but basically, there will be a bare metal and a wolfpack camo scheme. The stuff listed is additional schemes that I had in mind.I have pics of all this stuff, but I'm too lazy to scan them and then upload them. Copyright stuff too. Diego... As with the ultimate P-38, i will have a stripped down version that people can use, although I may have put the insignias on. But the Mexican Tbolts had US insignias anyway. DanI would also cast a vote for the American #7, but since I have always been delighted in all of your skins, there can not be a bad choice. Thanks PR=FC= IP: Logged |

Dan,make it an U.S. aircraft all the way! By far, we were the biggest operators of this aircraft. If it's a 'D' model, go with the bare metal, which was the standard. If it's the 'B' or 'C' "Razorback", the olive drab would be more realistic. Either way, I'm sure you'll do your usual awesome work. G-manIP: Logged |

Damn, you guys are killing me . Looks like a mixed bag so far......everybody want's something of everything. After doing some thinking...the Brazilian and Mexican T-bolts should be real easy, the have almost the same markings as a US bird...so a conversion to that shouldnt take more than 30 or so minutes (assuming i can get all of those little diamonds in the circle)..Mexican and French, no sweat...even Italian too. I'm making good progress towards the bare metal version...and after that I have to do the WolfPack cammo. We'll see. Thanks to everyone who is responding. You guys are gonna love this aircraft..!! Dan, I'm a little late on this one but I would love it if you did the "Tarheel" skin. You can see it on Kat's home page. It is the best looking P47 I've seen. Himdog out.IP: Logged |

Well Jeeves, you just happen to be in luck,Dave Schilling's 'Hairless Joe' is one of the original schemes that I am working on...it should be finished for release. For an update: I have completed 95% of the first two bare metal schemes. The third is about 60% done and Hairless Joe is about 40% done. I still haven't found out about the job, so I can't estimate what I will have done for release. IP: Logged |
