On my PC, SDOE has suddenly started going from Briefing room to debriefing room. (No MIssion ) Has anyone else seen this? No video driver shows up as being available under the SDOE settings. I have completely reloaded SDOE, deleted the video drivers and reloaded, all to no avail. This happened on my other machine and the only way I could get around it is to FDSIK and start over. I don't have that option on this machine.

I get that when Windows doesn't come up 'right' and the video driver doesn't get setup right. I usually do a reboot to fix it. You might want to check your video setting, that is the only way I get to fly when the computer gets this moody. Not much, but a line of some kind.

By chance, could some other app be taking the focus? If SDOE can't initialize Direct Input (joystick, keyboard, etc) in exclusive mode then it gives up.

The other possibility is a corrupt airplane or mission file. Usually you'll see a CTD, but sometimes SDOE will die more "gracefully." Have you tried simply reinstalling SDOE? You shouldn't have to scrub your entire computer.

Are you seeing any odd behavior in any other games or programs? It would be unusual if only SDOE was having trouble if it's a general system problem.

Nothing else is running but sdoe (not even a browser). Yes, I reinstalled SDOE (no change). What bothers me most is that I have seen this on both of my systems.....

(virus?)
