Well, Mr and Mrs Demon, it's a Hog. 
That Zeke back there is about to get a rude surprise...
The AI can land OK, but it can't stay on the runway any better than me. This is number 4 of a 4-ship, with the other three all piled in the same spot off to the side of the runway 
And last but not least...
Oh yeah. Did I mention these are all GLIDE??? 1024x768 res. No CTDs all night. A huge round of applause for Razor747, who found the problem with the canopy and prop .lods (knock on wood) and Mposis, who fixed 'em! I only flew it in 1024x768, so hopefully that will mean 800x600 is OK too. Frame rate for a single Corsair was 60-65 FPS at 1024-res in Glide (and about 50-60 in D3D at 1182-res). Frame rate with 4 Corsairs vs 4 Zekes is in the 20's with all 8 planes in view, and in the 40s with half the planes visible. Again in 1024-res. Hehe let me know if something else isn't working, and I'll get my "specialists" right on it Next: FM tweaking :O New version is up at:

h.a.p.p.y I'm h.a.p.p.y!!Nice Jedi, I'll go get it right now, was buggin me that I could fly it from the start, but only as a single plane and not in squadrons... Thanks for all the work, believe me, it's a ppreciated  we only need V3 right? and remove the old one or just write over it?

I don't believe in god, but JESUS H CHRIST!!!!!!!! I want that HUD as standard on all a/c's.. Awsome!!! Stunning!!!! Wicked!!!!! Jesus Guys, WAY TO GO!!!!!!Not only is every "very small" problem fixed.. but slap me with a wet rag if it aint even made better!!! I'm stunned after seeing that HUD, PLease own up to who added it, I love it.Everyone, go download V3 from the link above, you'll not beleive it, just took my breath away, I only got to sit in the thing (with a total of 4 in the squadron at the same time) Got one look at the HUD and had to come tell about it. Jedi, this started as a wicked a/c, but now it's truely a beauty, masterpiece, awsome, stunning, it's a dream come true!!!!! If you get V3, that's the FULL package, all .tifs, missions, etc.P2 corrects problems with V1 or V2. If you have ANY Corsair, get P2. It will overwrite a few files, and add a mission or two. V3 will overwrite a lot of files. ------------------

HUD? Do you mean that until today you haven't seen any HUD at all in this game Nat? I was in the F4U going "What is he talking about- it's the same old HUD" but I imagine if you haven't seen it before- it is cause for excitement Congratulations on your new HUD!! And jedi!!! Falck-I don't know if maybe you're looking for better resolution or something- but I just right-clicked on it and there is a option called "Set as Wallpaper"... course you probably already know this...but it shows up pretty good. All I can say is, My hat is off to you Jedi. Been waiting for this a long time. With a few minor tweeks for FPS and maybe ground handling, its the real mccoy.
And of course Razor with a huge contribution.
We are absolutely getting to where I want to go. ------------------

Nat, have you just installed Sdoe Control and checked the hud option? Maybe that's why you didn't see it before.

ohhhhhh yeahhhhh!!!!!!! Now that corsair is a fine plane thanx for ficxing the beta up I can fly that babt no problemo now.What ya mean ya cant take off in it its a cinch i used to have a wet noodle for a joystick ,the 51 used to be harder then that Awesome freaking work everyone,If i knew nothing can ya'll teach me to make planes like that in 30 days IP: Logged |

OK, now that I've gone all red in the face... the HUD.. .well.. yes I've used HUD before.. but.... I didn't know it displayed a different HUD if you hit the Shift H ... OK OK.. learn something new everyday... maybe I should've read all the instructions when I got this last year huh? LOL...NP Nat- I was gonna download it anyways. Now- there is definitely something missing with the pig and it is glaring IMHO. Granted, the default engine sounds in the game aren't bad, but I really want to hear the real thing! I searched online for over an hour last night looking for the engine sounds. Does anyone else know where a guy can find these? I heard mention of a CD for sale a while back and I scoffed at the price then- but if there are other sounds like Wildcat, Dauntless, etc then I'll buy the damn thing !!IP: Logged |

Yes its called "Aircraft Records". www.aircraftrecords.com
They have a pretty good selection. I have all of them. "Round Sounds" is all radial engines. And I think they have a few more.

Sorry, I should have said...I use a Celeron 300 (O/C to 450), Voodoo3 3000, and 128 Meg RAM. Screenshots are 1024x768 Glide, full detail on, all options enabled. Similar numbers in Direct3D, but I use 1152x900 res there (and it looks purty)

Jedi,What more can I say that hasn't been said already? Congratulations on one totally awesome plane. I haven't put my 2 cents in lately because I was experiencing all the same problems everyone else was. I saw no need to just repeat them. Let me know if I can help with any testing on the flight model. The plane does handle very differently between "Normal" and Force Feedback joysticks. Thanks again for all the work. This F4u makes all the problems with sdoe over the past year just simply fade away. Condor out ------------------

I have the engine start up sounds, I went lookin a couple of days back, the engine startup lasts 29 seconds though.. lol, but if you want it, let me know, and I'll mail it out (mail me so I don't miss any reqs if you want it)IP: Logged |

I have sounds for just about everything. Inside sounds, outside, startup, constant running.
Im sure there are better sources but its a good start.
