True

Plus you get to see it flying in all it's glory, with cool moving/working parts! It is great, the best thing I've done with my PC ever.

Spanky here...

Yep i would say cause you can actually fly it after.

I'm sure some people arn't into flying in the game much.

But its just as much fun to make a cool plane and see it in the game.

Almost wants to make ya go all out and make a plane with 5000 polys just for the fun of it. just to fly all by yourself.

with a really high res texture. use that WHOLE vid card just for one plane hehe

and the cool thing is you could make the 2nd detail lod closer to 1000 and swap them for a real online flying plane.

5000 polys ?! Woho - the I16 actually got 850 (about 998 with finished cockpit...) in high detail and about 300 or so in medium detail. Hey Spanky do you want an extra release with 5000 polys and HighRes textures (tell me and I will model every rivet for you) !?!

Spanky here...

I think that would be great man.

It would look so cool.

Ya have to still be able to get 15 FPS though
hehe

ya should wait till ya get it all done though

Imagine how cool it could look with all the vid card mem for textures

And how many models has ripping-them-to-pieces-over-and-over as a natural part in perfecting them?

I gotta agree with Zoycite. I fly R/C models and I've scratch built many of them. It's an amazing thing to see something you've spent 20-50 hours on plow into the ground and spread debris all around the field, you walk over and scoop it up and throw it in the back of your car and start in again. Here, I can reduce the time of scooping it all back up, and my engine still runs to boot!
