Yeah, read it closely...800 sq. miles sounds impressive until you do the math. SDOE's 40X40 terrain is 1600 sq. miles and we complain about SDOE being too small!. 800 is 28X28, about 5 minutes at 300 mph.[This message has been edited by Jerry (edited 02-22-2000).] IP: Logged |

I d/l a Battle of Britain demo not too long ago. Must be for this game. It reminded me a lot of Warbirds. The terrain and planes were like Warbirds. Took a Me-110 for a spin. Nice cockpit, but that was about all I liked. Not that Warbirds isn't bad, it has it's points, but give me SDOE anytime. dauntless851 IP: Logged |

From the flight sim newsgroup: Dave Whiteside of Rowan software answered this to someone concerned over the 800 mile limitation, he says it will be nearer 500 x 500 miles. It's not sq miles it's miles sq. More than enough it seems. ------------------

hmmmmm.....how is 500 X 500 the same as 800 X 800? So in other words it's not 28 X 28 like the web site says but it is 500 X 500, or 800 X 800. Thanks for clearing that up for me Spyder. IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Great. I'm going to make a new game called QUAKE nope not the one your thinking of but it will be a FPS and have tons of baddies and have to be run at 1000FPS by pimple faced teenagers. Boy that sounds like a great idea. STUPID. THanks for pointing that out Camo glad someone did. I tried the online one. and it was crap IP: Logged |

Whirlwind,If you're talking about a BoB mission pack- about the closest thing we have now (although I believe others areworking on it also) is my Dover campaigns- Part 1 and 2...1 goes from the Battle for France into the early BoB, 2 goes through the brunt of the BoB, and 3 which is near completion (maybe by this week...) covers D-Day through the V-1's and 2's (thanks to Pete) and beyond. My first one, Africa, takes place from Operation Torch to the eventual retreat of Germany from Africa. These all include some of the newer planes like the 109 variants. I'd like to add in some Italian fighters whenever they get made though since Italy basically started the Desert conflict. I'll soon be starting a WWI campaign for those hard at work (although I still need ideas for a time period to do there) and eventually would like to do a Battle of the Bulge (although there isn't much room to work in in France), Stalingrad (when the Russian planes and tanks are done), and a Rhineland campaign. Wow- I'm gonna be busy IP: Logged |
