My book here says the bf109G-6 had 1x30mm Mk108, 2x 20mm MG151, 2 x 12.7mm MG131 for guns.. that makes 5 guns.. when I was playing online I only had three guns?

Having alot of fun with 5.3 so far..

Spanky's correct, some versions of the G-6 were fitted with the 30mm Mk108 cannon but I understand the 20mm MG151 was more commonplace. The loadout of the G-6 allows you to select which version you want when designing a mission.

The 2x 20mm MG151s you are listing were carried in underwing gondolas and were primarily used for bomber intercepts. They added considerable weight and drag to the stock G-6 and were a hindrance in fighter versus fighter combat.

"The 2x 20mm MG151s you are listing were carried in underwing gondolas" That field conversion was very very much disliked by the pilots. It was for attacking the heavys and suffered in performance dramaticly. If memory serves some refused to fly 109s with that field converion. (R something or other)
I may be wrong but they to had to be escorted because performance was so bad.
It should probably be a seperate plane, Unless mission makers have gotten better in the past 6 months. (not to disparage them but someone will probably go "cool more guns" and create a dogfighting mission with the field converion load out...which means the plane SHOULD fly like a dog and be shot out of the sky with not to much trouble)

To the mission makers: thank you for all your efforts.

The Bf 109 G-6, which would be fitted with several alternative versions of the Daimler Benz DB 605 , carried a 30 mm MK 108 cannon firing through th airscrew boss, two 13 mm MG 131 machine guns above the engine, and two 20 mm MG 151 cannon in underwing gondolas. The MK 108 used explosive ammunition, and its muzzle velocity was only 540 m/s (1760 ft/sec), but it proved to be an effective anti-bomber weapon. In the Bf 109 G-6/U4 version the MG 151 cannon was replaced by two MK 108s.

The Bf 109 G-6/U4N was an improvised night fighter to use Wilde Sau tactics. This variant was fitted with Naxos Z warning and homing receivers with a range of 50 km (30 miles). The rotating antenna was installed aft of the cockpit, but the radar scope merely indicated direction and not distance. Two Staffeln were equipped with this improvised night fighter and operated briefly in the Cologne area, but the majority of these machines were destroyed in landing accidents owing to the inadequate night flight experience of their pilots. The Bf 109 G-6/R1 was a fighter-bomber conversion of the basic sub-type, and the Bf 109 G-6/R2 carried two WG 21 rocket tubes in place of the underwing gun gondolas. The WG 21 missiles were of 21 cm calibre, but the missile reduced maximum speed by some 40 km/h (25 mph) and disrupted the airflow over the elevators, and only limited success was attained.

And as a side note... the MK108 was the most hated 30mm gun by the germans. They had to get in close to have any good effect.. which meant that you were subjected to fire the whole ride in. They were much happier with the 103 and it's higher muzzle velocity. They could reach farther with very little difference in punch. Also, most of the intercept and "Dogfighting" planes opted out for the 151 in the nose. Better MV helped to provide a flatter trajectory so that they could actually hit someone without being right on them.
