Hi Guys,

We will be hosting the second SDOE air combat maneuvering tournament, this time focussing on the important discipline of 2 vs. 2 tactics.

The tournament is called "TACTICS 2", and is now scheduled for April 8th. More information can be found under the TACTICS 2
link at http://sbm.warbirds.org .

At present, the plan is to use P-38's - similar aircraft without HUD and with an overcast cloud layer.

So, contact your wingman and start brushing up on your 2 vs. 2 tactics! Please come and make this tournament even more fun and successful than the last!

p.s. If you are interested in entering, please post your interest here, so we can start getting a tally on the turnout.

Yes I'm interested but the date's not good for me (major bummer). It sounds like fun too.

Have fun HH. Good to see you around again.

Hey Spin!

Ugh! Well, I think the date will probably remain fixed, but stay tuned - you never know, it might change, depending on the availability of people.

Anyway, one of the major motivations for setting up a tournament like this is to get people thinking about and practicing 2 vs. 2. Hopefully, we'll see some of that going on online as we approach the tournament date. Hopefully, I'll see you then.

There are certain squads that have an excess of good pilots. Please don't pick you wing man purely on the basis of skill, lets make this a fair fight. I think there should be a drawing to pick your wing man. It would be from within your squad if you wish but we need one for the no squad guys too. This will make it possible for everyone to get a little training and help from another guys perspective.

Hi Guys!

Nice to hear from you all!

Bomber - there are no restrictions re: what wingman you want to pair up with.

I think most of the fun of the event is actually the practice flights that you do leading up to it! That's kind of the whole point - that people learn 2 vs. 2 tactics in practice rounds before the tournament. We can chat and fly 2 vs. 2's and get better at the technique.

Even the best lone wolf SDOE pilots will lose to a well-practiced section using 2 vs. 2 tactics. So, let's all grab our wingmen, learn some new things, and have fun!

I'm in. I really enjoyed the first one. I'm trying to talk Chad into being my wingie. We'll be the non-Michael Inertia Squad. Otherwise I'll put myself on the list of wingie-wanna-bes.

If you intend to participate, please state your intention to do so on the SBM Message Board.

The URL is: http://pub4.ezboard.com/fscreaminbluemessiahsfightersquadronsdoe.html

The sooner I have a handle on the turn-out, the sooner I can determine how we will coordinate elimination. The number of participants will decide whether we have a round-robin, single or double elimination tourney.

thanks
