Hello, just a couple Lanc questions for you guys.1. What is the Mk of the Lancaster in SDOE? The manual says one thing but I remember I discovered a while back it wasn't the same. MkIb? MkII? I can't remember. 2. David Hunt sent me a lanc skin I'm in the process of posting, but the readme is a tad short and I can't tell if it is a realistic one or not. Here is the part of the readme describing the plane: "Lancaster 1 Jonnie Walker BBMF Coningsby." What does BBMF stand for? Also, isn't that Johnnie Walker? I would appreciate any clarification you guys may have on this matter. Happy flying! Werner ------------------ DOWNLOADS+PILOT ROSTER+FAN SITE INNOVATION=B.C.A.T.P. Visit Today! IP: Logged |

The game itself says MkII. The manual says Mk I.------------------ Kopper Fortunae Nihil (Nothing to Chance) OPPs Making SDOE a Dangerous place. One plane at a time. IP: Logged |

BBMF stands for 'Battle of Britain Memorial Flight'. This is the RAF flight that operates a Lanc, about 5 or 6 Spitfires and 2 Hurricanes as well as a Dakota. The schemes they sport on their aircraft are all copies of original schemes in memorial of all the Commonwealth aircrew who fought and died in WWII.------------------ Yardstick painted this

Johnnie Walker was a mine dropped by Lancs against the Tirpitz. Also, it's unlikely that the Lanc in the game is a Mk.II, because that mark had Bristol Hercules radials.------------------ We shall fight on the beaches, in the streets, on the sea, in the air.... and in SDOE!!! IP: Logged |

What's the verdict - MkI or MkII? Kopper's reply doesn't sound very compelling, which, seeing as Lancs are his bag, worries me. Also, I've downloaded 5.3 and feel a bit daunted by the prospect of deleting this and editing that (after reading the 5.3 thread) so I was wondering if anyone on the 5.3 team was planning either to rerelease a fixed 5.3, release a 5.3 patch or release a doc explaining what needs to be edited/deleted and how (for editing, obviously). It just seems that the knowledge for how to fix the small probs the release has seems to be spread over a large area. Thanks! SDOE's Lanc must be a Mk.I, because the II had radials, and the Mk.III was re-engined with Packard-built Merlins, and was not used by more than three squadrons.------------------ We shall fight on the beaches, in the streets, on the sea, in the air.... and in SDOE!!! IP: Logged |
