Kudos to all the PP gods doing the huge work it took! Just being able to fly the new 190 from F1 makes the downloading worth it - and that's just part of the goodies
Thanks again -rt

Razer,

How do we unzip the files?

Do you have a web address where we can get something to unzip .ace files?

Your help is appreciated

You can get unace from my ftp
ftp://ftp.3dgw.com/misc/unace.exe

then use the command line:
unace x planepack5.3.ace and it will create the various folders.

I can't get the unace.exe program to rebuild files from PP5.3 wahatever the option I select, nothing happens.
I both tried the MS-DOS truncated name and complete file name.
What could I do wrong?

Wow, the new PP rules! I think there's hardly an AC left that sports the stocl skin. The opening canopies are just too cool :-)

Two thoughts, though:
1: Opening the canopy in a Bf109 at max speed would certainly tear off the canopy. Is that planned for 5.4?

2: While I'm no expert at RAF bombers the Lanc now looks very much like a Manchester to me, i.e. there's only two engines left. I guess something got mixed up here.

Thank you, OPP and PP-guys!

Roy, yes, this would normally happen but doesn't right now. We are really brain storming for things to add to 5.4, things like youcan't bail out till you open the canopy, and it does rip off when opened at high speeds..

For those of you that don't have WinACE.

I'm hoping to get the ZIP and EXE version posted today, so wish me luck.

Roy, looks like you found the first goof.

something happened somewhere. There is a patch planed, so look for that in a few days. not sure how this got by use.

sorry.

Just to make sure everyone knows. if you had a planepack installed before onyour system. make sure you delete data14.par and data15.par. New planepack only uses 12 and 13.

Got an error message. I redownloaded the 2 first parts of the archives and it keeps bugging.

It wasn't really what I needed at the moment.

Can't blame Razer as others have been able to rebuild the file...

very very disappointed.

bad week anyway.

Razer and everyone who put time into Plane Pack 5.3...

Thanks for all your time and hard work!!!

Ronin

(Hey, if all we did was lose a couple of engines off of one bomber while putting together this big of a project... we're doing good!)

Hey Stef
I had the same problem...
Solution:
Rename the Planepack5.3.c0x..c0x files (3 of them c00, c01, c02) to Planepack5.3.ace..c0x and it will work. It did here

Has anyone tested the plane pack's Lanc yet? You sure that the lanc.sm file is the right one? On a clean load/install (seperate from my SDOE developement install), I seem to be getting my hacked up Manchester. It might just be me, but I recognize that thing anywhere.

yes, somehow it is your Manchester. That was our mistake. It was suppose to be the Lanc with the moving turret.

OH! The HUMANITY!! Although it looks better than my Viper and Staaken right now, it still wasn't meant for human consumption . That's ok, just post a new .sm file (please update the loadout.ppf file to state that the Lanc is a Mk.I because the Mk.II had Packard engines and round nacells), I really don't have 45 minutes to get the PP again.

Of course, the general population can save it for those days they just need a slow, dumb, outclassed bomber to drill to pieces on. Nice 109F,K,ect, BTW. What happened to the 109G? Just wondering.

Nice work gents. Congratulations on a bouncing baby boy!

One small glitch is the Me262's pilot is sitting four 'notches' too far left so when the cannons are fired they look like it's aimed off-centre. This is easily solved by pressing CTRL-NUMPAD_6 four times.

Well the mistaken Lancaster (Manchester ?) didn't go to waste on me. As it turns out it looks very similar (OK..stretching it hear)to the Fiat B.R.20 (Yi shiki). The Japs bought 85 of these from the Italians just before the war.

Have even done up a realistic Jap skin and changed the names in the Ops file to make it a stand alone aircraft.

Anyone interested in the skin or directions to make it a unique aircraft, drop me a line.

Thanks to the PP 5.3 guys. This inadvertant mistake has brought me an unexpected surprise.

Again well done. You've brought a lot of things together in this PP. Of course there will be bugs but from my point of view nothing dramatic.

Cheers,

AGAS 5

WOW! You got it to skin? I could never figure out how to do that. To make it more of a Manc, you need to decrease the width and length of the wings, and change the engine nacels. I was just wanting some british twin to fly, so I chopped up the Manc. I think the FM is about right for the Manc as well.
