We are still trying to track down a few sounds for the Soviet Nation- but everything else (medals, squadrons, etc are done...thanks Zoy!). Japan and Italy are done and we are possibly thinking of releasing just those two instead of waiting for the Soviet files...but we haven't been able to get a hold of Poodle...so all I can say is it isn't available yet- but it is very close and Werner and I are anxious to get it out...VERY anxious!IP: Logged |

Could you please include a Fantasy selection with the nations also? I am making my fantasy plane pack and I don't want them to take up the space in the real planes section. If it would not be to much trouble, could you please include it?------------------ Thanks, James "Razor747" Smith Check out the SDOE Flight Line! I am constantly adding new things. R747- That's Poodle's department, so if its going to be added, he's the man to tell you.Tailslide- Please keep trying, because unless his voice and Laika's voice sound similar, we're going to have to find someone (Laika?) to do the whole set of 63 wavs again. (grrr...) Jeeves- Do you have all the finished and debugged Japan and Italy stuff? If so, please email me (sans files) and we'll set something up. I've got an idea At least there is some interest! If you can finish the nations thing and send it to me, I can add my fantasy nation to it. That way my planes will not take up the space in the other nations.------------------ Thanks, James "Razor747" Smith Check out the SDOE Flight Line! I am constantly adding new things. Hi guys,I'm still alive here, but haven't heard much from you about the Nations project either. It's kinda finished now, but still without the Russian sounds. I tested some already, works ok to me, but decided to rename all the squads to squad01, squad02, etc. That's how Parsdoft did it, and although it's totally not neccesary, I just thought it would look neat. But after I renamed the files to squad01 with the SQUADRON#01 folders in the Gui directories I found out I had to change all the Scramble mission too. So I'm going to change those now, but I'm also asking you guys when making new nations to just name it squad01, etc, just like Parsoft did with US, UK, and Germany. It's actually of no importance, but when doing it for the first time it's no extra work and in the missionseditor the squads go in the good order. Just like Scramble missions you don't actually have to name them Scramble## to let them work. Also you don't need a dir.txt file. But we just add those because it just looks neat, and why not name the Scramble missions Scramble##? Also for the fantasy nation, we can do that so we won't make the list of a nations plane so huge with imaginary planes. So how we call it, Disney? ------------------ Is it a bird? Is it a plane? IMO a Fantasy Nation is a great idea! It adds legitimacy to the imaginative planes/objects being made and discussed and gives us place to park them without cluttering up "real" nations. Based on his numerous and imaginative posts on the subject of fantasy planes we should call it "Spankyland". IP: Logged |

Poodle- Actually Jeeves and I have sent you a whole lot of email over the last couple of weeks and got virtually no reply. Anyway, that's not important now, and I think it had more to do with your email account problems. I don't understand about this renaming the squads business. You don't mean to say that now squads like "Hiryu Air Group" are now "squad02.whatever"? I hope not. Poodle, would you mind putting together a zip with all the Italian and Japanese stuff (I've asked you a few times whether you have all the Italy stuff, I'm still not sure what your answer is) so Jeeves and I can beta test it? Fantasy won't take too terribly long to make, but it needs everything a regular one does minus sounds, and Jeeves and I really don't want to delay this any longer than is absolutely necessary. When you have the beta ready, please email it to us. Fantasy can be added in the next release, as soon as it's finished. semmern- I know it doesn't say a whole lot about release dates, but you do know that there is a Nations homepage that you can access off the BCATP main page(?). Hi Werner, I got all the Italian stuff now. The olny thing missing was the combat10 sound, but I got that one too now. What I meant with renaming the squads is the renaming of the squadron files. All the Uk, US and German squads are called "squad##.ppf" and then in the file it says "129 squadron" or something like that. That's what I did, just change the ppf file name, so you'll have squad01.ppf, squad02.ppf, etc, but still the "Akagi Air group" name in the game. I've also started working on Holland. I translated all the sounds and got about 20 very usable medals. Also got info about the squads and maybe I can get hold on some insignia too. Together with this I'm really busy till wednesday, so I'll try to give you a beta before the weekend if that's ok.And about some neutral fantasy land, maybe Atlantis? Area 51 is cool too, but that's part of the US. Maybe some cartoon land/city would be nice. Can't think of any now, but you got that Loony-tunes, Donald Duck, and the Roger Rabit thing, etc. We also have to think up squad names and ranks. Cu, Poodle ------------------ Is it a bird? Poodle - I've sent you an email, please read it as it is quite important. Also, my objection to a lot of the 'fantasy' names is that they really annoy me. Regardless of where it is, Area 51 is a place where experimental aircraft are tested so I though it appropriate. However, before you whip out that flamethrower, I have an idea. What about giving the 'experimental' section ppf files and such generic names and then we can release customizable graphics packs that won't interfere with people online so that those who want 'Area51' can have it and people who want other stuff can have it. Do you know what I mean? Also, I understand now about the squads. That makes perfect sense, thanks for fixing it. Werner P.S. After our last experience with betas I think it goes without saying, but just to be sure - please don't post it online yet! Email it to me and I'll forward it to the rest of the team. thx^10! ------------------ DOWNLOADS+PILOT ROSTER+FAN SITE INNOVATION=B.C.A.T.P. Visit Today! Werner, I wasn't getting out the flame thrower about Area 51, but just that it would look silly with the yanks testing out a VTOL Ju88. And I won't put it online yet, you got my word on that (like that's a relief ). And about your plan, you mean anyone can have the fantasy name with funky squad insignia's he wants to have? We should agree on the name anyway since the country name is in the plane's ppf file. "Never never land" sounds ok to me, I vote for that one. We could make different graphic packs, but I think that would just make it harder on everyone. Let's just make a few squads, all in a different style. One squad would have 10 little aliens standing in front of a plane as their picture, and another would see bugs bunny inside a spit. I think if everyone would have the same there would be less confusion. Same squad names would be better for less online problems. But we can keep it all outside the par file, so people can customize the art themselves. Than we can also put art packs on the Nations download page. I guess that was your idea right? Also, what language do we agree on, if any? Does anyone speak Marsian here? Cu, Poodle ------------------ Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a Flying Poodle ! IP: Logged | |
