How about making the underwing gun attachments for the 109 and 190s? Is it possible to have a weapon attached to a hardpoint on the wings that fires a gun instead of drops off? It would give us the option in the mission editor to allow for the intercept and Wilde Sau versions of the aircraft to have the correct loadouts.

The guns are either on or off in the mission editor. There aren't choices for "this gun or that gun" type thing. I don't think it could work but I may be wrong.

Well, I am not really worried about the seperate firing switch for the extra guns.. but we don't have the external guns, I.E. the field upgrade versions of the guns. Like the mg121 gondola for the 109f/g's, or the dual mg121's and the MK103 gondola's for the 190's. These would be modeled like the bombs or rockets, but wouldn't fall off. If they are available through the mission editor I didn't notice them.. but they don't have the model anyway. It just gives some variance to the planes and gives us the chance to see these.. I don't know if it can work either.. but so far you are the wizard... ;}

glad you asked about this one Mirth, I've been thinking about that myself alot and never put it forward, if I remember rightly the Typhoon was fitted with a similar underwing gun attachment when truely moved to it's ground support/attack roles in about '44 I believe, I may ofcourse be wrong

All you need to do is tell the wing it has another gun. The individual gun "blast" is easily positioned in OPS. The "picture" of the gun can simply be added to the existing pack of guns for that wing.

I believe the type of gun itself is determined by the loadout.ppf file. The only thing to watch would be whether you can fire the outrigger guns separately from the others. For a 190, you'd have cowl guns, wing cannons, and pod cannons. Not sure the sim allows 3 separate gun packs, but you could set em to fire with the wing guns I'd think.

Actually Jedi, it is MG, Cannon, and Gondola. Doesn't matter where they are so long as they are specified as one of the first 2.
I am also looking to see the model of the gonola's as well... I don't care about just lumping another gun for the sake of a gun, I would like to see the model of the gondola there as well. Lets me know what I am up against at short range.....
