Heya,Just a quick little survey. Would say a fall or summer version of the Rhineland map be worthy of creating and or variations of schemes using the Rhineland map. Reason for choosing the Rhineland map is that I have all the files set up to make a d/l pack. All I'd have to do basically is change the textures. Last question, Would there be an interest in a "lightly dusted" version of Rhineland Winter. I prefered this version over the one released, but alot of people said they liked the full cover look better. Just wondering if this is a project wrothy of working on. ------------------ Zoycite {GS} GUNSLINGERS visit The War Paint Factory IP: Logged |

Go for muddy brown/spring green to simulate an Eastern front spring as I keep reading about it anyways...IP: Logged |

Personaly I don't think we need another Rhineland Winter, but a Rhineland in Spring would be nice. PR=FC=

I like the spring bit so far. As for doing another RW, it would be a new map, simply a new version of textures for those whouold prefer a light dusting of snow as apposed to the north pole Please keep them coming. Zoy, I think a modified RW is a good idea. Somewhere in between "lightly sprinkled" and "everything snowed over" Also if you could modify the textures for the hangars, houses and such to have some snow on the roof that would be a cool effect.I do think it should be a replacement for the old RW though, in order to avoid a bunch of confusion. Also, shouldn't everybody have the same terrain for any online missions? I am really hoping to see more online missions utilizing new terrains, which is why I think a Terrain Pack might be a good idea. I just converted all of the Rhineland missions that ship with SDOE into RhinelandWinter ones. Then I flew a couple and noticed a big red square in the middle of the snow. I looked at the mission, and that area is where there was supposed to be an airfield. I looked into it further, and that airfield was hidden in the mission properties. I unhid it, and there was no red square so I guess that fixed it. -=TheReaper=- [This message has been edited by ReaperMan (edited 02-10-2000).] IP: Logged |

Reaper,I wont replace the current RW. As some people may still want to use it. Basically all that would be updated would be th textures. This way if you liked one over the over then you may choose witch one to use. This would in no way cause conflicts of any kind. As for the objects, I dont really have the time to do all of them Looks like maybe an ETO spring and RW Light ------------------ Zoycite {GS} GUNSLINGERS visit The War Paint Factory IP: Logged |

2 cents from someone who is from the Rhineland: At my first look at the stock Rhineland I was pretty dissappointed (sp?). There was and is a lot of agriculture here, and woods. Also, it is virtually impossible to drive for five minutes without seeing a settled area. The thing I missed the most were all the charming villages along the rhine, and also the castle-ruins that sit on the mountains along the river. And don't forget the bridges.OK, while most of this is more related to objects than to textures, here's what I think the Rhineland-terrain needs texture-wise: Fields, more roads, woods (maybe just some darker green patches would look OK from some housand feet), vineyards on the mountainsides along the river (remember that they are always facing southward). Just my 2c, Peter IP: Logged | |
