OK, Reaperman posted this a week or so ago- so how do you do this?:

>I changed the thing so it didn't have any bombs etc. in the loadout, but the V-1 itself would explode when it hit (obExplodes).

I would like for the thing to explode so I don't actually have to drop the bomb. I've looked and looked through the Loadout and can't figure out what to change.

Thanks!!

Open it up in OpenPlane Studio. Click on the main model and go to the properties tab on the right hand column. Scroll down to where you see ObDamage and click on it.

I just looked at mine and typed this in.

ObHits 5
ObExplode 50 20

This means that at a VERY low damage value of 5 the V1 will blow up with 50 lbs of TNT on a visual scale of 20 (which makes the explosion/flame visual bigger than normal). I don't want TOO much TNT in there because an entire town would be wiped out. But experiment with it and come up with something you are happy with. I just tried it in the mission that was in the Zip file, and about .5 seconds after it hit the ground after it glided in, it exploded easily!

Have fun.

Ok, I just set it up with 1350 lbs of TNT

obExplode 1350 10

and I think that's around the correct amount for the real thing. It blew up good!

Uh, Jeeves, I thought I sent you a copy of the exploding V-1 along with a mission to test it out. Hmmm.

Anyway, according to the values I found, the warhead on the V-1 was 1870lbs. The max speed was right around 400mph.

Of course with that much explosive you can destroy almost an entire town or airfield in the game. And the real V-1 was only accurate up to about 11 miles, so I don't know if making it work better is a good idea... hehe.

I've been messing around with the V-1 a bit over the past few days and I'm trying to do what Pete was trying before which is to get the elevators to disable when the AI tries to open the bomb door. Also I was trying to get it so it really only has one engine, and placing it in the right spot. Then again, the real V-1 had to be launched and couldn't take off by itself but I just think it's wierd having those invis 262 engines on the side =)

Oh yeah and I made a shadow for the V-1
but according to Sv's tutorial I need to open up the file in a 3D modeling prog, which I don't have.

Reaperman-

If you did send me a copy, I didn't get it Unless you sent it under a different name? I did get a mission from Commando (?) with V-1's set to hit Woolwich, but if that was you, there were no other files attached other than the mission. Could you resend it? Thanks!!

Commando and reaperman are two seperate entities (not orginal I know) I,ve been doing more development on my V1 mission and as well as setting the V1 a target I have also linited the fuel to 300 lbs so as in real life it falls onto the target. Need the version with easy explode for it to work reliably , currently 50% just sink into the ground

The real V1 had a little spinner at the front of the plane it used to calculate how far it had travelled. When the programmed distance was travelled, it would drop. I'm not sure how it dropped.. either by diving or cutting fuel (or both?)

I'm uploading a new V-1 zip file with the 1350 TNT load. I tried the 1870 lb TNT load but it was a bit much. Things even kind of far away like airplanes not in the immediate area would explode, so I lessened it.

Hope you like it. You can get it through my site here...

It'll be done in a few minutes.
