Go to http://www.freediskspace.com and sign up. It takes less than 5 minutes. I just did and the first folder in my 300 megs is titled "OpenPlane Models"

This is so cool because you can give out a password for people you want to have access to certain things, and if not they can't DL it. You can also give out Write permissions for people to upload files to you. This is truely WAY COOL!

As a favor, when asked for a customer referal code please type in my number. (Afterall, I will be uploading LOTS of aircraft over the coming months, and each referal I give them will give me 5 extra megs of "sm model" space. It's really a dream come true type of site. I've needed something like this! Also it's NOT a webpage server, it's only space. I'm hoping I can link my site to it though in some way to allow people to click on my Xoom site links and DL stuff from the Freediskspace.

Once again, please use this code and it'll ensure that I continue to put out LOTS of airplanes and add-ons

My Referrer code: U00079A59

Thanks and please go check it out. There's no catch (that I've seen).

Here's what I'll be uploading there to my folders over the coming weeks/months...

WWI
Observation Balloons
Gotha V

WWII
PBY-5A Catalina
B-24 Liberator
C-47
He-111
Ju-52
Me-110
P-61 BlackWidow
Storch

Post WWII
MiG 15
A-4 SkyHawk
A-6E Intruder
A-7E Corsair II
A-10 Thunderbolt II
B-52
B-58 Hustler
EA-6B Prowler
S-3 Viking
F-14D Tomcat (revised)
F-15C Eagle (revised)
F-16
F/A-18 Hornet
F-5 TigerShark
MiG-21
MiG-27
MiG-29 Fulcrum
Su-25
Su-27 Flanker
Su-33
Tornado
Sea Harrier

Plus I'll be trying my hand at terrain making as well. I may hold off on more ground objects for a bit. If you had one of these planes on your list that you wanted to build then please, still build it. People will fly whatever they are happiest with.

My reason for all the modern aircraft is this... I want to fly them with this sim engine! Based on what I've seen with my F-14 I know modern jets work well with it.

TS, I wasn't joking. That was pretty funny though. Long but funny.

I also forgot these

Helicopters
AH-1 Cobra
BlackHawk

The list isn't in any particular order and I tend to do stuff that I'm interested in working on at any given moment. I tend to jump around a lot. I'm going to try and focus more on just knocking each one out though in the future. I'm not big into doing cockpits so for many of these there may just be generic ones. I like to get the overall airplane in the game, get the gear and flight control DOFs setup, get it flying well, and that's when I'm ready to move on to the next one. So if some of you enjoy cockpit modeling feel free to improve on these. I also will be uploading my "quick flyers" very soon. These are those Navy jets that are in very simple form right now but are flyable and their own SM files.

I just thought of this as well. Since I now have a good method of building the "quick flyers" I may just do ALL of them like that, so at least you guys can fly them soon, and then of course in time they'll be done properly, all nicely texture mapped and moving surfaces in place.

Cool?

ooohhhh can't forget those.

Are you doing the F/M for these planes, or just the 3D model?

I'll do the basic setup, ie weights and so forth. I'm really clueless on how to do the FM correctly and will leave that to anyone (Zurawski, Pang, Tailslide?) who has a grip on that stuff and also wants to do them. At some point I hope someone puts out a useful FM tutorial. I've read some stuff out there now but find it's still pretty difficult. If they don't choose to thats fine. The planes work and are fun to fly but over time I hope they will eventually have correct FMs. I prefer to do the modeling/DOFs/texturing stuff personally.

It's pretty mech a "given" that if it looks good (or someone has a personal interest in a given plane) ... someone will step forward to FM it.

Hell ... that's my "achillies heel" all these frick'n planes look to GOOD to NOT have a proper FM!

(that and I'm a glutton for punishment)

I found from lookin at it that you need to register to be able to view other ppls directorys, I may be wrong, but thats the way it seems, so I decided not to use it (although I have registered a space)

Well so far all my stuff is still on Xoom. Once I get some more together I'm going to try and setup a link from Xoom to the new one. I'll make a post saying when I've put some things in there.
