Hmmm. I sent them an e-mail a couple months ago, and told them about all the work that was going on, and how incredible the game was becoming, the cameraderie of the folks who flew it, etc.I got an e-mail back saying they had done an update article on SDOE (it was about the 1.5 patch really...), and didn't plan on doing anything more. Well, does someone want to volunteer to do it for me? I'll post it! Make sure you throw in a few screen shots.What I'm looking for if you are interested is a 'look at SDOE now!' kind of article which is almost an editorial style. It would discuss items like the new planes, winter patches, the new add-ons through the contest, ground objects, and the new WWI element in SDOE. If you feel you are capable of writing this article, email brandor@combatsim.com

YepNow that the users here are posting screenshots and downloads of the stuff you've been working on, people are starting to take notice. This month's issue of Computer Gaming World has an article about how users are making their own ad-ons to flight sims and gives a good plug for Open Plane and lists the addresses.

Wow!It is great to see SDOE getting some credit for one of my favorite (and most overlooked) features of SDOE, OpenPlane! Thanks to Hippie (builder/extractor) and Bryan (OpenPlane Studio) for opening the OpenPlane doors for us newbie (wannabe) aircraft builders! Let freedom ring!

Spoonman;Thanks for the gesture!! I am sure there are a number of folks here who will jump at this, and do it very well! The rest of us will look forward with eager anticipation for the result. I agree about SV...only, he's the Chicken! LOL But then, Pete, you are also The Man! And what about - ( insert endless list here - are the rest of us lucky to have these guys around, or what?? ). If I could list all the names of people to whom we owe the continued excellence of the SDOE experience, it might take forever for even the fastest connection to load the page!! Because in the end, it is everyone....even those who haven't 'created' any new objects, but have kept showing up online, kept flying through the bugs and pesky problems, and gone out of their way to welcome and help to the best of their ability any newcomers to our community. I think it is a safe statement that this is, really, a community effort....and to each and all, I say Thanks!! ------------------
