navigator; actually, it is quite simple...check out the links section here, and the online standards doc linked from the fightersquadron.com title/main page. Also, the fshangar.com site ( click on the banner when you visit, it helps them keep their bandwidth ). Briefly, you need the sim ( natch.. ); the official patch 1.5; and currently Plane Pack 5.2 ( soon to be 5.3 - watch this forum ).

And feel free to ask any questions here or in the HELP forum; use the Links area and the Downloads area to your advantage. There are some great sites, add ons, and people here who will be happy to help. If you have ICQ, 99b, check out the Active List; and check out Werner Molders SDOE contact/mailing list...all are linked in this forum.

Good luck, welcome to the community, and hope to see ya online!!

Navigator, the procedure is quite simple. After you've downloaded and installed the 1.5 patch and Plane Pack 5.2 (as neal mentioned previously), from within SDOE you select Network from the main screen ... then Internet from the next. You'll be presented with a list of servers to choose from next. The California12 server seems to be the place of choice at the moment, usually from 7pm PST onward. Once you've made your selection, you'll see a list of the "lobbies" available on that server and the number of pilots in each (normally just bragging about their 9 gawd-zillion kills they had in their last game ) .... anyway, select the lobby that has people in it Presto, you're in. Now all you have to do is maybe insult one or two of them about their flying/gunnery skills (or even girl/boy friend) and you're guaranteed a fight Actually, they're a good community and will go out of their way to help you get going.

Oh, one un-written rule ... elves are out of season
