I've been talking with my squaddies and we all agreed that it would be great to get the squads into some actual competition. I know, we tried this before and nobody ran with the ball.

Well, the Chickens are hereby challenging any and all takers (if Mad Dog can be suicidal so can we )! I suggest that we make use of all the hard work that Yossarian did on the AOW site and encourage squads to sign up and start challenging others. This to me, would bring this sim to another level online.

It seems that many online fights end up being regenerated free for alls which is fun, but you kind of lose the team aspect of things. Man, Hedgehog is gonna go ballistic when he reads this .

So, how about it? Any takers?

Hmmmm.... should I change my handle to "Edsel"? Is this *that* bad an idea?

Or are y'all just... Chicken?

Hey you Bulldogs! 225th? JV44?

Here's our chance to really practise and learn some team ACM and apply it against another squad (the Chickens may actually have to come up with some tactics ).

This doesn't have to be a big time-consuming tournament thingy. We dont even need to schedule the matches. Just challenges when there are enough squad members available in the lobbies. We may have to do a lot of 2 on 2's if the traffics light, but what the heck. Then we'll post results on the AOW site and keep track that way. Tell me if I'm way off base here.

hey esox, I guess most of you overseas guys only have introduced time zones to avoid the german planes and play around with your P51's ` . Come over here and get downed by
some Me109's and FW190's.

Anyway I like your idea very much, lets have some squad meetings. JV44 tries to be at UK1 every So 2030GMT.

We completed stage 1 in the last competition, but due to time constraints, we never got back together again to claim the title ('Most times killed and still advanced' or 'Most Successful Landings in a Tailes P-38').

I've made the offer of 'prizes' of sorts (a game from the software drawer of delight) in an open statement last month (December) started by Hippie, but alas no one seemed interested. What? Afraid LL34 will make you cry?

Here's an idea to add to the squad vs squad thing, how about grabbing the best pilot each squad can put forward and create a 'dream team' for us to challenge?
The best of the squads vs the mere mortals....run with it.

Glad you guys might actually get around to using this thing. It has been lonely for the past few months with nobody looking at it

One of it's strong points, as esox was pointing out, is that the games are completely scalable. You can fly from a 1v1 to a 8v8 and report the results. The rankings work with number of sorties flown per pilot and squad, so obviously, the more pilots in a game the more sorties you get credit for.

Yossarian and Hedgehog did a great job on the AOW bit. I agree, it will be well worth the effort. Thanks again Yossarian.

Zur, Stark, Spyder, great! This will be fun and I'am glad there is an interest.

Hmm, Tail, if you cant your fellow SBM'ers away from their Jets, then you are welcome to fly as a guest pilot for the GS

Thanks all!! ( I think...hehehehe ).

I, for one, will try my best to fly on Sundays when JV 44 has their sessions...it's 1230 pm for me, so it won't be quite at the start...but there will be at least one Chicken for them to shoot!! And any of you independents are welcome to fly with me..when we say we are loose, we don't just refer to our morals!! hehehe

We try to have our squad night on Saturdays, attendance is dependent on real life obligations... ...but you will generally find 3 to 6 of us on California 12 after 6 or 7 pm pst ( GMT -8.00, I think....??? ). As for any other times, I would have to check with Edsel....er...I mean Esox!!, and Sv.

Hey Tailslide - you are also welcome as a FC; if ya get tired of shooting down the opponents, you can always come after us - we do it all the time anyway!! With us, it is purely altruistic....we want to save you guys' ammo!! ( and a chicken hawk in the coop would keep us honest...grin )

Last ( you're welcome hehe ) note: I kind of like Spyder's idea of a 'top gun' squad taking on all challengers...anyone else??

WOW! This is great!
Looks like at least some people are interested. All you need to do is go to the All Out War web site:
http://www.alloutwar.com

click on the "leagues" link and then "SDOE". One pilot from each squad should sign up their squad. Then have each of your pilots sign up themselves individually. You have to go back in and "activate" the pilots in your squad.
Download the "official" missions and then start a-challenging!

Everyone should read the ROE. It's kind of long by chicken standards (we're not much for a lot of rules ), but everything there makes sense to me. One thing we're going to have to be sure to do is make sure everyone agrees on the outcome and scoring (including kills and deaths) before we leave the mission. That way there wont be too many discrepencies. This could be a lot of fun!
LLLLLLLETS GET READY TO RRRRRRRRRUMBLE!!
